In Lexington, Roanoke's Ali Ogelsby netted four goals Wednesday as the Maroons rallied to beat Washington and Lee 10-6 and win the Old Dominion Athletic Conference regular-season women's lacrosse championship. Roanoke has won the title four times.
Roanoke (9-2 overall, 7-0 ODAC) scored first on a goal by Ogelsby but the Generals rattled off four straight goals to take a 4-1 lead. The Marrons cut the deficit to 5-3 before Washington and Lee (8-3, 5-1) tacked on another goal to make it 6-3. The Maroons then outscored the Generals 7-0 to seal the victory.
Eileen Siegel had 11 saves for Roanoke and Gayle Avery scored three goals. Emily Gipson and Lorriane Taurassi each scored twice for Washington and Lee.

Quarterback Jim Druckenmiller passed for 91 yards, ran for 72 and had a hand in four touchdowns in Virginia Tech's football scrimmage in Blacksburg.
Defensively, safety Cody Whipple had six tackles and intercepted a pass and Myron Newsome and Tony Morrison each had five tackles. Morrison also recovered a fumble.
Roanoke rattled off five consecutive goals to erase an 11-10 Radford fourth-quarter lead and the nationally-ranked Maroons downed the Highlanders 16-13 in a men's lacrosse game in Radford.
Jeff Jones had five goals and four assists for Roanoke (8-3), including a score with 10:32 left that gave the Maroons a 12-11 lead they wouldn't relinquish. Zack Karantonis and Bay Burch led the Highlanders (5-7) with three goals apiece.
The Virginia Tech team split a non-conference softball doubleheader with Hampton in Blacksburg.
The Hokies lost the first game 7-5 but Christine Trunnell led the way as the Hokies won the second game 4-1. The second baseman went 2-for-3, with one run batted in and catcher Wendy Hayden was 1-for-2 and scored a run.
The Roanoke Valley Golf Association has announced its 1996 tournament schedule.
The RVGA's Valley Amateur men's championship will be held Aug.7-11. Thirty-six hole qualifying will be held Aug.7 at Hanging Rock and Aug.8 at Blue Hills. The tournament moves to Countryside Aug.9-11 for three days of match play.
The RVGA City-County Junior championship will be held July 22 at Blue Hills and July 23 at Countryside. The tournament was moved from its customary August time slot to July since the VSGA's State Junior Championship is being held Aug.6-8 in Charlottesville.
The RVGA will hold its annual kickoff function Monday night at 6:30 at Countryside for its members and any prospective members. Annual dues are $25. A person doesn't have to be a member of a club to join the RVGA, which conducts a dozen approxmiately a dozen tournaments per year.
