VA. FUGITIVE IS ARRESTED IN CALIF. FBI NABS MAN WANTED IN WIFE'S STABBING

A Virginia man who authorities say stabbed his estranged wife 33 times before fleeing with the couple's 5-year-old daughter has been arrested by the FBI in Los Angeles.

Michael E. Moore, 23, was taken into custody without incident about 6 p.m. Friday as he was walking along Hollywood Boulevard, Henrico County police Sgt. Bob Loving said.

Moore is charged with malicious wounding in the March 22 stabbing of his wife, Lisa D. Moore, 26. Moore fled the scene with the couple's daughter, Alexis.

The case was featured on the television show ``America's Most Wanted,'' which led to tips that Moore and the child were in Miami. Police found the child April 7 and returned her to Richmond.

Acting on an anonymous tip received Friday, Henrico police alerted the FBI that Moore might be in the Hollywood Boulevard area, Loving said.

Moore spoke of his daughter as he was taken into custody.

``I love her more than anything in this world,'' he told television reporters. ``She's my little sunshine angel. ... I love you, Lexi.''

Moore had dyed his hair blond, said Stanley Klein, of the FBI's Richmond office. Klein said it is believed Moore traveled from Miami to Los Angeles by bus.

Moore was being held in the Los Angeles County Jail. He is expected to appear in court Monday for an extradition hearing. The Moores had separated about 10 months before the stabbing. Earlier that day, the couple visited Lisa Moore's lawyer to make custody arrangements for their daughter.
