That tap, tap, tapping at the Edgar Allan Poe Museum came from an unexpected source.
Workers were replacing copper gutters stolen last weekend from the Richmond landmark.
``We were glad to be able to help, especially a nonprofit operation like that,'' Harold Daniel said Friday.
Daniel, general manager of AAPCO of Richmond West, said he was struck by a news report last week about the museum losing a portion of its gutter to theft and he wanted to do something.
Daniel, who grew up in Chesterfield County, is a fan of Poe's literary works. He offered to replace the guttering at no cost.
``It's a wonderful idea,'' said Jill Wood, a museum official, who said the museum was thrilled with Daniel's offer, especially since there aren't funds to pay for the work.
