Paul and Maxine Dellinger of Wytheville, Va., announce the engagement of their daughter, Katherine Cates, to David Peter Koppelman of Syosset, N. Y. Katherine is a 1991 graduate of George Wythe High School and a 1995 graduate of the University of virginia, and is a first-year law student at George Mason University School of Law. David is a 1988 graduate of Syosset High School, a 1992 honor graduate of the University of Virginia, and Received his master's degree in teaching from the University of Virginia in 1995. He is a teacher at Tuckahoe Elementary School in Arlington, Va. A small family wedding is planned for August 3 at Chantilly, Va.
Goodwin-Sweeney
Miss Shannon Nicole Goodwin and Mr. Barton Douglas Sweeney are engaged and planning to be married on May 18, 1996, in Troutville. Miss Goodwin is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Goodwin of Daleville. She graduated from Lord Botetourt High School and attended Radford University and is currently attending the College of Health Sciences. She is employed by Finley Fine Jewelry. Mr. Sweeney is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Sweeney of Blue Ridge. He graduated from Lord Botetourt High School and served in the United States Coast Guard. He is employed by Norfolk and Southern.

Mr. and Mrs. George Mark Gridley of Crofton, Maryland, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kelly Lynn, to Mr. Jay Charles Gentry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Lee Gentry of Roanoke.
Miss Gridley is a graduate of Arundel High School and will graduate from Lynchburg College in May. Mr. Gentry is a graduate of Cave Spring High School and Lynchburg College. He is employed with Xerox Corporation in Lynchburg.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerry C. Hawley of Salem, Va. announce the engagement of their daughter, Greta Ann, to Robert Patrick Bratton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert C. Bratton of Teays Valley, W.Va.
Miss Hawley and Mr. Bratton received their Chemical Engineering degrees from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Miss Hawley is employed as a Development Engineer by Hercules Incorporated, Aqualon Division in Hopewell, Va. Mr. Bratton is employed as a Production Engineer by ICI Americas Incorporated in Hopewell, Va.

George and Rosemary Laurey are pleased to announce that their son Damian Matthew Laurey and Stephanie Ellen Jones are engaged. They will marry on June 1, 1996 in Culpeper, Virginia.
Damian is a 4th year student at The University of Virginia majoring in Economics. He graduated from The CITY School, The Roanoke Valley Governor's School For Science and Technology, and was an honor graduate from Patrick Henry High School.
Stephanie is a graduate student at The University of Virginia and an instructor at the English Department's Writing Center. She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate from The College of William and Mary. She was valedictorian at Culpeper High School. Stephanie is the daughter of James and Ellen Jones of Culpeper, Virginia.

Mrs. Jean Pagano of Secane, Pa., and Mr. Theodore Pagano of Sewell, New Jersey, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa Marie of Philadelphia, Pa., to David Andrew Broyles, son of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Broyles of Roanoke, Va.
Melissa, a 1988 graduate of Merion Mercy High School, Merion, Pa., and a 1992 graduate of Catholic University, Washington, D.C., is currently a third year medical student at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
David, a 1986 graduate of Cave Spring High School and a 1990 graduate of Bridgewater College, Bridgewater, Va., is also a third year medical student at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
The wedding will take place on June 7, 1997 in Philadelphia.

Peter is a resident in Family Medicine at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center. He received his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, and his Doctor of Medicine degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
A July 6, 1996 wedding is planned.
