ADKINS, Melva Amos, 75, of Penhook, died Saturday, April 20, 1996 in the local hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Haynes Adki ns and was a daughter of the late Millard and Keva Brown Amos. Surviving are her five children, Wayne and Jeanette Adkins, Rocky Mount, Barry and Becky Adkins, Randy Adkins, Nancy and Tony Plybon, all of Penhook, Dennis Adkins, Pittsville; 12 grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn Turner, Danville; three brothers, J. C. Amos, Rocky Mount, Sam Amos and Nelson Amos, both of Penhook. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Forrest Hill Christian Church, with Minister Ted Clifton officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family suggests that those who prefer may make memorial donations to Forrest Hill Christian Church, Rt. 2, Box 79, Penhook, Va. 24137. ANDERSON, Edith M., 76, of Dublin, died Saturday, April 20, 1996, in a Pulaski hospital. She was born in Grayson County, the daughter of the late William L. and Donna P. Martin. Surviving are her husband, Lewis C. Anderson of Dublin; two sons and daughters-in-law, D. Ted and Sandra H. Anderson of Pulaski, and Carter and Betty Anderson of Radford; a brother, Leslie Martin Jr. of Independence; a sister, Lucille M. Southers of Sparta, N.C.; a brother-in-law, Kenneth E. Anderson of Radford; two sisters-in-law, Hilda Peake of Chilhowie and Frances Rankin of Ocala, Fla.; five grandchildren, Cindy Anderson of Atlanta, Ga., Mark Anderson of Bethlehem, Pa., Jeff Anderson of Atlanta, Ga., Julie A. Williams of Lynchburg and Jonathan Anderson of Radford, and two great-grandchildren, Andrea Rose and Robert Lewis Anderson of Bethlehem, Pa. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Fairlawn United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Lewis Weaver and the Rev. Henry Horton officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fairlawn United Methodist Church or to the Gideons International. BOLLING, Muriel Elizabeth Walker, 82, of Roanoke, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 1996. Funeral services 12 noon Tuesday from the Lotz Vinton Chapel.

BOOTH, Edna Hash, 83, of Richmond, f ormerly of Route 3, Ridgeway, died Friday, April 19, 1996, at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. She was the wife of the late John Joel Booth. Born in Franklin County on February 4, 1913, she was a daughter of the late William P. Hash and Roxie Ann Edwards. She retired from Ridgeway Elementary School after teaching for 32 years. Mrs. Booth was a member of Fontaine Baptist Church, Henry County Retired Teachers Association and AARP. Mrs. Booth was preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle Pennington. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. June W. Carpenter of Richmond; a sister, Iris Edwards of South Boston; two brothers, Tom Hash of San Diego, Calif., and Charles Hash of Vancouver, Wash.; two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Collins Funeral Chapel in Bassett, with the Rev. Bynum Orr and the Rev. D. C. Craig officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Church Cemetery at Ferrum. Memorials may be made to Fontaine Baptist Church. BYRD, Stella King, 77, of Christiansburg and Myrtle Beach, S.C., passed away Thursday, April 18, 1996, at her Myrtle Beach home. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday from the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Father Harry B. Scott III, with interment in Sunset Cemetery. CALHOUN, Lillian Barnett, 79, of Marietta, Ga., formerly of Radford, Va., died Sunday, April 21, 1996. Arrangements by DeVilbiss Funeral Home, Radford.

CARTER, Clarence Hubert, 76, of Roanoke, died Saturday, April 20, 1996. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, and was retired from the Norfolk and Western Railway. He attended the Clearbrook Grace Brethren Church. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mildred Campbell Carter; a son and daughter-in-law, Roger L. and Pat Carter; sisters, Gracie Mills, Ola Jarvis, and Pauline and husband Jack Gibson; his stepfather, John P. McGeorge; a ha lf brother, Berkley McGeorge; a special sister-in-law, Edith C. King, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Lotz Roanoke Chapel by Pastor Fred Devan, with burial in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. DAME, Ruby Aliff, 73, of Roanoke, died Saturday, April 20, 1996 in Richmond, Va. She was the widow of Richard Woods on Dame, who preceded her in death after 48 years of marriage. Mrs. Dame was born in Salem, Va. and had been a resident of Roanoke for 50 years, where she was a member of Greene Memorial United Methodist Church. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Don Richard and Patricia Wheeler Dame; two grandchildren, Richard Woodson Dame, II, Lesley Ann Dame, all of Richmond; two sisters, Kathleen Page Martin and Irene Elizabeth Ames; one brother, Allen Jennings Aliff, all of Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted at Greene Memorial United Methodist Church, 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, 1996, with the Rev. Robert L. Watts officiating. HILL, Marion Henry, 64, of Route 5, Stuart, died Sunday morning, April 21, 1996, at his home after a long illness. A native of Patrick County, he was born January 6, 1932, son of the late Willie Hardin Hill and the late Fannie Sue McBride Hill. He was the Purchasing Director of the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart and former manager of the WHEO Radio Station. A veteran, he was a member of the Stuart Baptist Church and a former member of the Stuart Lions Club. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Billie Jean Beamer Hill, of the home; one son, David Hill of Mt. Airy; a daughter, Mrs. Jeri H. Gardner of Augusta, Ga.; two grandchildren, Brian and Beth Gardner; a brother, Buford Hill of Route 1, Spencer; four sisters, Mrs. Melvy (Eldean) Layman of Stuart, Mrs. Earl (Ruth) Corns of Martinsville, Mrs. Laura Corns of Martinsville and Mrs. Betty Corns of Clover, Va. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. at the Howell Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart, with burial in the Woodlawn Methodist Church Cemetery, Hillsville, Va. JENKINS, Milly Virginia, 74, of Christiansburg, died Sunday, April 21, 1996 at Montgomery Regional Hospital. She is survived by a sister, Clara M. Anderson, Richmond; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter H. and Mary Alice Williams, Charlie C. and Laura Williams, all of Richmond; special nieces, Norma Jean Linkous, Blacksburg, Bobbie Jean Ogle, Christiansburg and Jo Anne Wilson, Richmond; a special friend, Laura Costigan, Christiansburg. McGHEE, Bobby J., 54, of Roanoke, passed away Saturday, April 20, 1996. He was a veteran truck driver for 35 years. Surviving are his wife, Mary F. McGhee; four daughters, Patty of Florida, Sherry, Cindy and Wendy of North Carolina; two stepsons, Michael and Daniel of Roanoke; two stepdaughters, Tina of Georgia and Donna of Tennessee; 16 grandchildren, and a nephew and wife, Troy (``Bo"") and Susan McGhee of Georgia. Funeral services will be at Oakey's Vinton Chapel at 1 p.m. Tuesda y, with Mr. Gene Kelly officiating. Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton. MILGRIM, Ronnie Kemper, 60, of Galax, passed away Saturday, April 20, 1996 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 11, 1935 in Galax and graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1949. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served on the battleship, U.S.S. New Jersey. He then graduated with a Business Management degree from National Business College in Roanoke and moved back to Galax in 1959. He worked several years in the business community, including being Credit and Office Manager for Vaughan Furniture Co. He has been a successful businessman and entrepreneur for over 25 years as owner of the Rex Theatre and Star Drive-In and later the A & Z Store and founder of A & Z Apparel. He was very interested in computers and recently obtained a degree in Computer Technology from Surry Community College in North Carolina. He has been active in many civic organizations. He has served in the past as president of the Galax Country Club, president of the Galax Jaycees and Exalted Ruler of Galax Elks Lodge #2212. He had currently served as treasurer of Grayson-Carroll Shrine Club, secretary of Galax Elks Lodge, a member of Old Town Masonic Lodge $68, a member of Roanoke Scottish Rite Masons, a member of Kazim Shrine Temple and secretary/treasures of Kazim Hillbillies, where he had been very active in helping crippled children going to the Shrine Hospital. He is preceded in death by his father, Par ker, Mother, Susie and brother, Platt. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Evidene; daughter, Renay; grandchildren, Josh, Jenna and Hayley, all of Galax; brother, Douglas Milgrim of Galax; brother and sister-in-law, Delano and Louise Milgrim of Independence; sister-in-law, Alyce Milgrim of Roanoke; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Oakland United Methodist Church, Tuesday, April 23, 1996, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. STROUSE, Leona Grace Burton, 90, of Bland, died Sunday, April 21, 1996, in Kegley Manor. She was a member of the Bland United Methodist Church, and the Bland Chapter #41 Order of the Eastern Star for 48 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Archie Strouse. She was the loving and caring mother of one daughter and son-in-law, Linda S. and Jesse Pulley of Bland; one son and daughter-in-law, James E. and Opal Strouse of Fairfax; four grandchildren and spouses, Kevin and Denise Ellett, and Colleen and Jon Godin of Christiansburg, and Theresa and Stacy Stierle, and Mike Strouse of Fairfax, and one great-grandson, Matt Ellett of Christiansburg. SUITER, Loura Finley, 98, of Wytheville, died Thursday, April 18,1996 in Harwood, Maryland. She was a native of Bland, Va. She was a resident of Wytheville for many years, where she was a member of Saint Paul United Methodist Church and the Wilderness Road Chapter of the D.A.R. for over 50 years. She was prec eded in death by her husband, Albert Suiter. She is survived by one daughter, Margaret ``Peggy"" Bush, Crofton, Md.; one son, Wilton F. ``Pete"" Suiter, Naples, Fla. WEST, Charles Edward (``Chuck""), 57, of Salem, passed away Saturday, April 20, 1996. He was a member of Botetourt Country Club, the Kazim Temple, Scottish Rite and Taylor Lodge. He was preceded in death by his father, William M. West and brother, Thomas West. He is survived by his wife, Linda B. WILKINSON, Jack E., of Winston-Salem, N.C., passed from this life and went to be with his Lord, Sunday, April 21, 1996. He was born July 19, 1932 in Giles Co., Va. to Jake Robert and Inez Runions Wilkinson. Mr. Wilkinson was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Winston-Salem. He retired from the U. S. Air Force with over 20 years of service, was employed with Merita Bakery for 12 years, and most recently retired from Teamsters Union Local 391. He was a former General Manager of Day's Inn in Roanoke, Va. and Ramada Inn North in Columbus, Ohio. He was a member of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars Arcadia Post #10485, where he servied as past Chaplain and Senior Vice Commander. Upon his death, he held the office of Coordinator for the 11th District Memorial Honor Guard. He was also a member with the Disabled American Veterans and of the Retired Enlistedman's Association. He was preceded in death by his father and daughter, Sharon Lynn Wilkinson. He is survived by his loving wife, Geneva Hollaway Wilkinson, of the home; one son, Mickey J. Wilkinson and wife, Cathy, Winston-Salem; two daughters, Cheryl W. Gross and Tammy W. Shelton, both of Roanoke, Va.; five grandchildren, Brandie, Brett, and Jacob, all of Roanoke, Va., Candace and Taylor, both of Winston-Salem, N.C. He is also survived by his mother; two brothers, Mariel Lee Wilkinson and Buddy E. Wilkinson; one sister, Joyce Munsey, all of Narrows, Va. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Pentecostal Holiness Church, Narrows, Va., by Chaplain A. G. Parker and the Rev. Kimball Jones. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Cemetery, Pearisburg, Va., with military graveside rites by the 11th District Memorial Honor Guard, Clemmons, N.C. The family will receive frie nds from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Riffe's Funeral Home in Narrows, Va.
