ANDREWS, Ephriam Richard, 86, formerly of Salem/Roanoke community, died in the Southside Community Hospital of Farmville on Sunday, April 21, 1996. He was the son of the late Isaac Moon Andrews and Annie K. Ruebush Andrews Roanoke, and nephew of Lottie Moon, Baptist Missionary to China. He was a 42-year employee of The Roanoke Times. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mrs. Dorothy Barksdale Andrews; a daughter, Dr. Na ncy A. Andrews, Farmville; one brother, Judge Charles Burks Andrews, Pembroke. DAVIS, Dorman Ray, (``Red''), 62, of Dublin, passed away Saturday, April 20, 1996, at his residence. Born in Webster Springs, W.Va. on November 20, 1933, he was a son of the late Homer Mayo and Nettie Gay Coger Davis. He was a Maintenance Manager at the New River Casting Co. in Radford. He was a member of the Liberty Masonic Lodge #26, West Liberty, W.Va., and was a U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by his wife, Ulla Anna Muhlbauer Davis; three daughters, Danielle Rae Davis Campanizzi of Dublin, Angela Dawn Beaverson of Wheeling, W.Va., and Dorinda Sue Davis Logan of Nelsonville, Ohio; three sons; Faron Ray Davis, Jerry Day Jr., and David Allen Day, all of Fostoria, Ohio; one brother, Charles Junior Davis of Webster Springs, W.Va.; one sister, Mabel Brooks of Diana, W.Va.; six grandchildren. HEATH, Mary Virginia Hunt, 73, of Glasgow, died Sunday, April 21, 1996 in the Lewis Gale Hospital, Salem. Mrs. Heath was born October 23, 1922 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Emmett B. Hunt and Minnie Lee Agee Hunt. She was a member of the Falling Spring Presbyterian Church and retired as manager of Nester's Milk Bar, with more than 20 years service. Mrs. Heath was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Heath, Sr. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Scott Meyers, Roanoke; two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Catherine Heath, Daleville, Robert and Lauri Heath, Los Gatos, Calif; two sisters, Annabelle Claytor, Glasgow, Ermine Alford, Glasgow; five grandchildren, Cassie Meyers, Amber Meyers, Kevin Meyers, all of Roanoke, Travis Heath, Daleville, Tracy Lintner, Salem. HUFFMAN, Ernest H., 87, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 22, 1996. He was retired from the Norfolk & Western Railway and was an avid golfer. Mr. Huffman was the widower of Gladys Huffman, and is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law, Melvin and Judy Huffman, Charles Huffman, John and Joann Huffman, Cecil Huffman, all of Roanoke; six daughters and five sons-in-law, Edith and Woodrow Carter, Margaret Louise Huffman, Frances Ann and Dallas Carter, Evelyn and Jerry Altice, Linda and Donald Pollard, Brenda and Charles Smallwood, all of Roanoke; 11 grandchildren;11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marie Webb, Roanoke; and a special niece, Ossie Wheeler, Buchanan. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday from Oakey's Roanoke Chapel with Major Dan Delaney officiating. Interment will follow in Fair View Cemetery. MARTIN, Basil Douglas Sr.., (``Rip''), 54, of Roanoke, passed away Saturday, April 20, 1996. Basil was a native of Roanoke, and upon his graduation from Lucy Addison High School, Class of 1959, he furthered his education, receiving a B.S. from Central State College and a D.D.S. from Meharry Medical College. Dr. Martin later practiced dentistry in Lynchburg, Washington, Pa., and Jamaica, N.Y. He also volunteered his services locally at the Bradley Free Clinic. Prior to Dr. Martin's dentistry career, he taught school in Little Washington, N.C., and researched at Patuxent Agricultural Research Center in Patuxent, Md. In addition to his educational accomplishments and career, Basil was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, and W. M. Grand Lodge Masons of Pennsylvania. He enjoyed golfing and was a licensed pilot. Basil was preceded in death by his parents, Basil and Beulah Bailey Martin. Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Basil and Portia Martin, Clarion, Pa., Beaufort ""Shoan'' Martin, Roanoke; one devoted sister, Joan Martin Hairston, Roanoke; two grandchildren, Jordan and Jasmine Martin, Clarion, Pa.; four nephews; two aunts; two uncles; and many cousins and friends. Funeral services will be Friday, 11 a.m. at the Hamlar-Curtis Chapel. The interment will be in the Bailey Town Cemetery, Walnut Cove, N.C. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Hamlar-Curtis.

MOUNTCASTLE, Harold ``Lee"", 62, of Norman, Okla., died Sunday, April 21, 1996. He was born in Buchanan, Va. on October 29, 1933. He passed from this life on Sunday, April 21st at the Norman Regional Hospital. ``Lee"" lived in Virginia until 1951, when he joined the United States Air Force. While stationed in Albuquerque, N.M., he met and married Helen Cross. They had two children, Cynthia (1956) and Harold, Jr. (1959). Over the next 20 years following tours in Iceland, Greenland and Vietnam, living in Missouri, New Hampshire, Texas, England and Ohio, he and Helen retired in Jeffersonville, Ohio in 1971. For the next 15 years, they were the proprietors of the local ``home"" restaurant. Lee served as Jeffersonville Town Council Member, was a volunteer fireman and an active member of the Lion's Club. After selling the restaurant, they moved to Norman, Oklahoma, where he has worked for the past ten years for the University of Oklahoma CART System. Harold ``Lee"" is described as a ``truly good man"" who will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Eubank Rycroft and his son, Harold Jr. (Bud). He is survived by his wife, Helen; and his daughter, Cyndy and her husband, Pete; and their son, Ryan, all of Norman; his brother, Donald and his wife Betty of Roanoke; his mother-in-law, Eva Cross; and his brother-in-law, Leon Cross of Norman; and two other brothers-in-law and their wives, James Cross and Ruth of Mayhill, N.M. and Virgil Cross and Linda of Hobbs, N. M.; nieces and nephews from Louisiana and New Mexico; uncles and cousins in Virg inia and many, many special friends in Norman and throughout the Unites States. UNDERWOOD, Posie W., (``P .W.''), 78, of Jacksonville, Fla., passed away Sunday afternoon, April 21, 1996, at his residence. A native of Roanoke, he had resided in Jacksonville since moving from Salem in 1950, where he was a police officer. He had retired from Civil Service, as security police, at Mayport Naval Station, where he had been affiliated since the closing of the Green Cove Springs Facility. He was a member of the Duval Masonic Lodge, No. 159, F & AM, the Glynlea Grace United Methodist Church, was a U.S. Army World War II disabled veteran, and a member of the DAV Chapter No. 26, Jacksonville, Fla. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Phyllis; one son, James, Jacksonville, Fla.; one brother, Henry Melvin Underwood; six sisters, Mina Manning, Louise Tyree, Barbara Higgs, Wilma Likens, Thelma Lipscomb, all of Roanoke, Violet Radford, Natural Bridge. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 1996, from the chapel of the Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 6940 Atlantic Blvd., with Rev. Kip Younger officiating. WARE, Jack E., 68, of Chestnut Way, Salisbury, Md., and formerly of Buchanan, died Sunday, April 14, 1996, at his home. He was born in Back Creek, a son of the late John Edward Ware and Okey Dell Cooper Ware; and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Lee Ware and John Ware Jr. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Marie Townsend Ware of Salisbury, Md.; a daughter and son-in-law, Star and Robert Richardson of Eden, Md.; a granddaughter and her husband, Angela M. and Scott Pusey of Snow Hill, Md.; a great-grandson, Cory S. Pusey of Snow Hill, Md.; five sisters, Evelyn Eubank, Shirley Rickman, Helen Riddle, Jean McClure, all of Buchanan, and Patty Caron of New Jersey; two brothers, Ray Ware of Buchanan and Richard Ware of Fincastle; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Ware retired from C & P Telephone in 1987 as a cable splicer after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #654 and the Telephone Pioneers Club of America. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and a member of the American Legion Post #64, and VFW Post #194. Funeral services were held Sunday, April 21, 1996, at 2 p.m. at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury, Md. Interment was in the Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury, Md.
