Several players with Virginia Tech and Virginia ties have signed free-agent contracts with NFL clubs the past two days.
Former Hokies Jermaine Holmes, a receiver, and Dwayne Thomas, a running back, signed with Tampa Bay, and former Tech kicker Atle Larsen signed with Arizona.
George DelRicco, a former Tech linebacker, signed with Cincinnati; former Hokies defensive back William Yarborough signed with Miami; and ex-Tech offensive lineman Mike Bianchin signed with the New York Jets.
Two former Virginia Cavaliers - tight end Bobby Neely and defensive tackle Jason Augustino - signed contracts with the Chicago Bears.
During Sunday's NFL draft, two Tech players - receiver Bryan Still and defensive lineman J.C. Price - were drafted, and one Cavalier - receiver Patrick Jeffers - was taken. Still went to San Diego, Price was taken by Carolina and Jeffers was picked by Denver. - Staff report
