MOORE, John Jasper, 81, of Roanoke, and formerly of Glasgow, died Monday, April 22, 1996, at the Veterans Medical Center in Salem. Born in Glasgow on July 20, 1914, he was the son of the late John Oscar and Ethel Smith Moore. He was a World War II veteran and a member of Union Baptist Church in Glasgow. Prior to retiring, he was a chauffeur for Burlington Industries in Glasgow, and a minister at the First Baptist Church in Natural Bridge. He is survived by his wife, Doris Crockett Moore of Roanoke; five children, Mary Moore of Richmond, James Moore Sr. of Sunrise, Fla., Isaac Moore and wife, Vivian, of Staunton, Earl Moore and wife, Eloise, of Charlottesville, and Courtney Moore of Roanoke; six stepchildren, Donald Harris of Newlano, La., Stewart Harris of Petersburg, Rhonda White of Jacksonville, Fla., Sterling Harris of Roanoke, Robin Harris of Richmond, and Blair Barnes of Roanoke; a sister, Rosa Ricks of Portsmouth; 26 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 26, 1996, at Union Baptist Church in Glasgow with the Rev. Artis Appling and the Rev. Lee Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Glasgow. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lomax Funeral Home, Buena Vista.

MORRIS, Roy Lee, 72, of Route 3, Goodview, passed away Monday, April 22, 1996, at his residence. He was retired from Singer Furniture. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Thomasson Morris; three sons, Roy L. (Livie) Morris Jr., Goodview, Gene A. Morris, Moneta, Roger L. Morris, Goodview; two daughters, Cathy L. Morris, Goodview, Debra M. Wilson, Vinton; two brothers, Calvin Morris, and Jesse (Pete) Morris, both of Goodview; also six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, April 25, 19 96, from the Morris Family Cemetery in Goodview. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Lotz Vinton Chapel

MUNCY, Gilbert Carter, 66, of Bland, died Monday, April 22, 1996, at his residence. He was the son of the late Minor and Bess Muncy. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, and an employee of A.B.B. Corp., Bland. He is survived by his wife, Constance Muncy, Bland; two sons, Bruce Carter Muncy, Virginia Beach, Mark Christopher Muncy, Bland; two brothers, Minor Muncy Jr., Grundy, Charles Raymond Muncy, Bland; two sisters, Ellen M. Walls, Ann Monti, both of Bland; two grandsons, Walker Muncy, Pearce Muncy, both of Virginia Beach. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 26, 1996, at 11 a.m. at the Newberry Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. June Miller and the Rev. Joe Taylor officiating. NUNNALLY, Robert Edward, Sr., 85, died Monday, April 22, 1996, at his residence, 3213 Jersey Court, Colonial Heights, following a period of declining health. He was a native of Ettrick, and was a lifelong resident of this area. He was the son of the late Robert Lee and Nettie Inez Talbott Nunnally. Mr. Nunnally was a longtime member of West End Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and was a member of the Titmus Bible Class. He was also a member of the Knights of Pythias. In 1976, Mr. Nunnally retired from the Titmus Optical Company after 47 years of service. Following his retirement from Titmus, he and his wife founded the Nunnally's Garden Town Nursery. He is survived by his wife, Edna Smith Nunnally of Colonial Heights; one daughter, Robertta Nunnally Biggs, and son-in-law, Gerald Eisenberg of Richmond; one son, Robert Edward Nunnally Jr., and daughter-in-law, Peggy McVeigh Nunnally of Roanoke; two granddaughters, Patricia English of Cape Coral, Fla., and Kathy Nunnally of Roanoke; two grandsons, Phillip Biggs of Chester and Wesley Biggs of North Carolina; one great-granddaughter, Megan Biggs of Chester, and one stepbrother, Will Beamer of Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 25, 1996, at 3 p.m. in West End Baptist Church, with Dr. Donald J. Campbell, pastor, and the Rev. John W. Crocker, associate pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg. The family will receive friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morris & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

PERDUE, Virgil Henry, 54, of Salem, died Tuesday, April 23, 1996 in the VA Medical Center, Salem. He had been employed with New River Electrical for many years, was a member of the Baptist faith and served in Viet Nam. Survivors include two sons, George Thomas Perdue, Michael Wayne Perdue, both of Roanoke; a brother, Douglas T. Perdue, Salem; a sister, Evelyn Crowder, Roanoke; mother, Clara E. (``Betty'') Perdue, Salem; aunts, Maxine Smith, Lynchburg, Alma Perdue, Elliston; a special nephew, Donald Perdue, Elliston; numerous cousins. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 25, 1996 at 2 p.m., in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem, with the Pastor E. G. (``Dusty'') Etter and the Rev. Jack Perdue officiating. Burial will follow in the Hall's Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m

PRITCHETT, Ernest M., (``Mickey""), 75, of Princeton, W.Va., died Monday, April 22, 1996 at the Beckley Veterans Hospital, Beckley, W.Va. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Beulah Hagan Pritchett; sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Kelly Pritchett, Daleville, Va., and Steve and Rhonda Pritchett, Princeton, W. Va.; grandchildren, Bradley Pritchett, Gold Bar, Wash., Dana Vittitow, Ankara, Turkey, Tana Pritchett, Courtland, Va., Lance and Jason Pritchett, Princeton, W.Va., and Courtney and Brooke Pritchett, Daleville, Va. STROUTH, Elsie Sartin, 83, of Salem, passed away Sunday, April 21, 1996. She was born at Eggleston, Va., Giles County on November 28, 1912. She was a retired employee of Skyline Cleaners in Salem for 35 years. She was the widow of the late Clarence M. (Buster) Strouth and the daughter of the late Hughie P. and Flora Burton Sartin. She is also preceded in death by a granddaughter, a great-granddaughter, four sisters and five brothers. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Clarence M. (Kenny) and Sally M. Strouth; five grandsons, Tony Lee Strouth, Salem, Johnny Ray, James Arnold, Kenneth Allan Strouth, all of Maryland; also a foster grandson, David Thompson, of Maryland; three great-grandsons, Johnny Ray Jr., Jerry Lee and Daniel Strouth, all of Maryland; two great-granddaughters, Ashley Nicole Strouth, of Maryland and April Amanda Strouth, Salem; two special friends, Sherry Chandler and Diane Hill; also a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 am. on Thursday at the John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home Chapel, Salem with the Rev. Floyd B'Hymer officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

VAUGHT, Stephen Edward, 63, of Blacksburg, died Monday, April 22, 1996, at his home. He was born in Giles County on May 14, 1932, to the late Kathleen Vaught Rogers. He was a member of the Mountain Top Mission Church, Christiansburg . Surviving are his wife, Remona Bradley Vaught; one son, Darrell E. Vaught, Hartford, Conn.; one daughter and son-in-law, Melissa M. Vaught and Laurent P. de Comarmond, Alexandria; one sister and brother-in-law, Marcia R. and Ronnie Taylor; one brother and sister-in-law, Greg and Rose Rogers, all of Newport; eight nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 25, 1996, 2 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Claude Dove officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. WEAVER, Hubert Earl, 91, of Hardy, died Monday, April 22, 1996. He was a membe r of White Rock Baptist Church, York Masonic Lodge #225 of Hyattsville, Md., and was a Scottish Rite 32nd Degree Mason. He was also retired from Carpenters Local 1590 in Washington, D.C. and was a retired building inspector in Prince Georges County, Md. He is survived by his wife, Rose Morgan Weaver; two daughters and a son-in-law, Aline W. and Rev. Michael J. Kent Sr. of Pelham, N.C., Margaret Weaver Worsham of South Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a son and daughter-in-law, Eldridge and Jamie Weaver, Mitchellville, Md.; sister, Gertrude W. Lester of Vinton; four grandsons; one granddaughter; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 25, 1996, with the Rev. Steve Witt and the Rev. Michael J. Kent Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials to the Building Fund of White Rock Baptist Church, Hardy. WHITESEL, Firth Andes, 96, of Buena Vista, died Tuesday, April 23, 1996, at Stonewall Jackson Hospital. He was born October 24, 1899, in Rockbridge County, son of the late William O. Wh itesel and Hester Conner Whitesel. He attended Buena Vista Baptist Church. He was retired from Bernson Silk Mill. Mr. Whitesel was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert L. Whitesel, Glossie O. Whitesel and Jack D. Whitesel. Surviving are one daughter, Peggy W. Moore of Buena Vista; a sister, Elizabeth C. Whitesel of Buena Vista; a brother, Russell A. Whitesel of Richmond; two grandchildren, Theresa H. Fitzgerald and Michael R. Henson, and a great-grandson, Matthew H. Fitzgerald. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel, with Dr. Chip Pendleton and Pastor Joseph H. Grow officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Service in Buena Vista.

WILMER, Loraine Crawford, 81, of Clifton Forge, died Sunday, April 21, 1996. Funeral 2 p.m. Thursday in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel, Covington.

YOUNG, Homer F., 75, of Buchanan, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 1996. Funeral services 11:30 Friday April 26, 1996 at Oakey's North Chapel. Interment will follow in Mt. Joy Cemetery, Buchanan.
