The Service Corps of Retired Executives in conjunction with The Blue Ridge Small Business Development Center will offer two small-business workshops in May.
A Prospective Business Owner's Workshop covering topics such as business regulations, taxes, insurance, organization and planning, marketing and promotion and management skills will be held May 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Roanoke Valley Graduate Center, 117 Church Ave. The fee is $25.
A Creating an Effective Business Plan Workshop detailing the writing of business plans and financial proposals will be held on three evenings beginning May 6 from 6:30 to 9:15 p.m. in the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce office, 212 S. Jefferson St. The fee is $50.
Both workshops have limited enrollment, so early registration is recommended. Call the Blue Ridge Small Business Development Center at 983-0717.
