Dear Neighbors:|
I am complaining about the Roanoke County baseball field behind Oak Grove Elementary School. Cave Spring American Baseball League requires a $45 fee to play from each child 9 to 12 years old. I have played on this field for the past three years. This particular field is in need of repair. The infield has so much gravel but hardly any dirt which causes injuries when trying to slide or field the ball. It also has beehives in the dugout and in the playground. The outfield has many holes and ruts so that players could easily twist their ankles while trying to field the ball. I know that parents in Roanoke County pay a lot of money for taxes. Along with some of this tax money, and some of the money that is collected for fees for CSABL, why can't Oak Grove field be in better shape than it is?
