Twenty-five inmates from the Pulaski Field Unit will help clean and paint picnic shelters at Claytor Lake State Park through a program started by Gov. George Allen last year.
Allen's programs allowing inmate labor to be used in community programs started last October. Both programs are limited to non-violent offenders.
"I believe that inmates should help repay their debt to society by working while they are incarcerated," Allen said in announcing the Claytor Lake work.
