Coalition dinner

CHRISTIANSBURG - The Coalition for Community will have its annual awards dinner tonight at 7 at Our Saviour Lutheran Church. John Price, president of the Montgomery County NAACP, will be the guest speaker. He will speak on "Employment Opportunities in the New River Valley."

Five citizens will be honored at the dinner. Danya Conn, John and Nan Hairston, B. Lloyd and Ben Crawford will be recognized for their contribution toward the coalition's vision of building community amidst diversity.

The dinner is potluck. A $3 charge will cover drinks, bread and settings.

Science Saturdays

BLACKSBURG - The Virginia Tech Museum of Natural History is hosting Science Saturdays for children the last Saturday of each month beginning today.

The first program will be activities in endangered wildlife.
