Dawn Benchoff and Michael Schell are engaged and planning to be married in the autumn of 1996 in Trenton, N.J. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Benchoff of Trenton, N.J. She is a graduate of Rutgers University and Mercer County Community College, and is employed by Merrill Lynch in Denver, Colorado. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl W. Schell of Roanoke, Va. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech and Va. Western Community College, and is also employed by Merrill Lynch in Denver, Colorado.
Cope-Rife
Mr. and Mrs. Paul V. Cope of Charlotte, N.C. announce the engagement of their daughter, Pamela Jean to Michael Charles Rife, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Rife, Jr. of Roanoke. The wedding will take place October 19, 1996 at Sardis Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, N.C. Pamela graduated from East Carolina University and works at First Choice Benefits, Inc. in New Bern, N.C. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Frederick Hofe of Morris Township, New Jersey and Block Island, Rhode Island are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Catherine Fraser, to Robert Bruce Ogden of San Luis Obispo, California. Prior to graduate school, she was employed by Butts & Ordway, Watertown, Massachusetts, where she was comptroller. Mr. Ogden is a graduate of Salem High School, Salem, Virginia and attended Roanoke College. He is the co-owner of restaurants in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara, California.
A July wedding is planned on Block Island, Rhode Island.
Humphries-Roper
Dr. and Mrs. William Howell Humphries of Roanoke, Virginia are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Annelise Humphries, to Mr. Leighton Parks Roper, III, son of Mrs. David Randall Dougherty of Pottstown, Pennsylvania, and Mr. Leighton Parks Roper, Jr. of Arlington, Virginia.

Hila Lee Maxey and Richard Matthew Foutz, II are engaged and planning to be married on May 17, 1996 in Dry Fork. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Maxey of Chatham. A family wedding will be held May 17 at Hopewell United Methodist Church, Dry Fork, Va. A reception honoring the bride and groom with be June 15 at Maxey Farms.
