Benchoff-Schell
Dawn Benchoff and Michael Schell are engaged and planning to be married in the autumn of 1996 in Trenton, N.J. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Benchoff of Trenton, N.J. She is a graduate of Rutgers University and Mercer County Community College, and is employed by Merrill Lynch in Denver, Colorado. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl W. Schell of Roanoke, Va. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech and Va. Western Community College, and is also employed by Merrill Lynch in Denver, Colorado.
Cope-Rife
Mr. and Mrs. Paul V. Cope of Charlotte, N.C. announce the engagement of their daughter, Pamela Jean to Michael Charles Rife, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Rife, Jr. of Roanoke. The wedding will take place October 19, 1996 at Sardis Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, N.C. Pamela graduated from East Carolina University and works at First Choice Benefits, Inc. in New Bern, N.C. Michael is a graduate of Virginia Tech and works as an Engineer at the Naval Aviation Depot, Cherry Point, N.C.

Mr. and Mrs. Dean Frederick Hofe of Morris Township, New Jersey and Block Island, Rhode Island are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Catherine Fraser, to Robert Bruce Ogden of San Luis Obispo, California. Mr. Ogden is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Howell Ogden of Salem, Virginia.
Miss Hofe is a graduate of Pomfret School, Connecticut, and of Roanoke College, Salem, Virginia. She will receive a masters degree in nutrition from Boston University in May. Prior to graduate school, she was employed by Butts & Ordway, Watertown, Massachusetts, where she was comptroller. Mr. Ogden is a graduate of Salem High School, Salem, Virginia and attended Roanoke College. He is the co-owner of restaurants in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara, California.
A July wedding is planned on Block Island, Rhode Island.
Humphries-Roper
Dr. and Mrs. William Howell Humphries of Roanoke, Virginia are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Annelise Humphries, to Mr. Leighton Parks Roper, III, son of Mrs. David Randall Dougherty of Pottstown, Pennsylvania, and Mr. Leighton Parks Roper, Jr. of Arlington, Virginia.
Miss Humphries is a graduate of North Cross School and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She is an account manager for NMC Homecare in Richmond, Virginia.
Mr. Roper is a graduate of the Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia, and the University of Virginia. He is a political consultant for Cunningham Harris Associates and will enter law school in August, 1996.
A July 27, 1996, wedding in Salem, Virginia, is planned with Bishop A. Heath Light officiating.

Jennifer Ann Linkous and Jason Allen Bradberry are engaged and planning to be married on June 8, 1996, in Greenville, S.C. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Linkous of Blacksburg, Va. She graduated from Pulaski County High School and The University of South Carolina. She is employed by Roper Hospital in Charleston, S.C. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Neal Bradberry of Greenville, S.C. He graduated from Mauldin High School and The University of South Carolina. He is employed by Roper Hospital in Charleston, S.C.

Katherine Ann Marven and Robert Mark Moses are engaged and planning to be married on April 12, 1997. Kathy is the daughter of Linda S. Marven of Roanoke, and Dr. L. Jonathan Marven of Reno, NV. She is a graduate of Northside High School, Roanoke College and Virginia Commonwealth University. She is employed by Good Samaritan Hospice. Robbie is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald R. Moses of Roanoke. He is a graduate of Northside High School and attended Virginia Tech. He is employed by Federal Express.
Maxey-Foutz
Hila Lee Maxey and Richard Matthew Foutz, II are engaged and planning to be married on May 17, 1996 in Dry Fork. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Maxey of Chatham. She was graduated from Chatham High School and Ferrum College. She is employed by First Piedmont Corporation and Chatham Square Restaurant and Antique Court. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Foutz of Rocky Mount. He was graduated from North Cross High School and Bridgewater College. He is employed by Hargrave Military Academy.
A family wedding will be held May 17 at Hopewell United Methodist Church, Dry Fork, Va. A reception honoring the bride and groom with be June 15 at Maxey Farms.
McAlister-Lowe

He is presently enrolled at Yale University Graduate Studies in Ancient Christianity. The newlyweds will reside in New Haven, Connecticut.

C. The bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bradley Nott, Sr., of Richmond, Va., and Mr. Robert Carr Trevillian, Jr., of Richmond, Va., and the late Mrs. Mittie Grahame Quarles Trevillian. The groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Oswell Cooper Bowling of Salem, Virginia, and Mrs. Hildegard Muller of Munich, Germany, and the late Walter Muller.
