NEEL, Robert Allen, 76, of Roanoke, died Sunday, April 28, 1996. Mr. Neel was a graduate of Jefferson High School and Emory & Henry College. He served in the U.S. Marines. Surviving are his brother, Dr. Samuel R. Neel Jr. and wife, Eleanor of Bradenton, Fla.; sister, Mrs. Virginia Neel Mills of Roanoke; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted noon Tuesday, April 30, 1996 at Belmont United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sam E. McPhail officiating. NICHOLS, Mazie McClure, of Blue Ridge, died Sunday, April 28, 1996 in a local hospital. She was preceded in death by a son, William Ray Dillard. She was retired from the Kenrose Manufacturing Company and was a member of Blue Ridge Church of the Brethren. Surviving are a brother, Lacy McClure, Blue Ridge; brother-in-law, Bruce Kirkpatrick, Roanoke; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews. Funeral s ervices will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 1996 with the Rev. J.Richard Gottshall officiating. NOLLEY, Cleo Showalter, 95, of Atlanta, Ga., formerly of Roanoke, Va., died Sunday, April 28, 1996. She was the widow of Aubrey C. Nolley. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Charles Hudgins, Atlanta, Ga.; two brothers, John J. Showalter, Galen R. Showalter both of Roanoke, Va.; three grandchildren, Susan H. Mattison, Rebecca H. Bullard and Charles R. H udgins Jr. all of Atlanta, Ga.; four great-grandchildren. PICKRAL, John Myers, 10, of Lexington, died Saturday, April 27, 1996 in the Stonewall Jackson Hospital. John was born October 30, 1985 in Lexington, Va. A son of Dr. Robert Moore Pickral and Nancy Atthowe Pickral. He was a student at Waddell Elementary School and participated in many R.A.R.O. Sports and was a member of the 4-H Rifle Club. Surviving in addition to his parents are a brother, George Pickral; a sister, Emily Pickral both of the home; paternal grandmother, Mrs. George M. Pickral; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Atthowe Jr. all of Lexington. Memorial services will be conducted 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 1996 at the Lexington Presbyterian Church with Dr. William Klein and the Rev. Lee Zehmer officiating. RECTOR, J.R., (``Ray""), 95, of Marion, died Saturday, April 27, 1996 in Francis Marion Manor Nursing Home. Mr. Rector was a businessman in Marion, Va. for seventy years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lavonia Woody Rector. He is survived by one daughter, Catherine M. Rector, Marion; one son, Joseph E. Rector, Marion; three grandchildren, David L. Meek, Marion, Richard Rector, Marion, and Mitzi Howell, Marietta, Ga.; five great-grandchildren, Angela Meek Sciarra, Irvine, Calif., Michael Meek, Knoxville, Tenn., Adrian Rector and Brinna Rector both of Marion; two great-great-grandchildren in Calif. SWITZER, Betty Bernice, 86, of Roanoke, died Saturday, April 27, 1996. She was born in Botetourt County, the daughter of the late Edward Luther and Bettie Rhinehart Austin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Payne Switzer. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby L. and Lois Switzer of Fincastle; a daughter, Shelva Jean Lucas of Roanoke; three granddaughters, Brenda Lawrence, Bettie Doo ley and Heather Switzer, and one great-grandson, Robert Lawrence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, at the Rader Troutville Chapel, with the Rev. Joe Greene and the Rev. Mitchell C. Luckie, pastor, officiating. She was a native of Scott County, a member of Starnes Bluff Evangelical Methodist Church, and a homemaker and mother. UTT, Lannie Meredith, 78, of Fancy Gap, passed away Saturday, April 27, 1996 at her home. She was born October 27, 1917 to Jesse and Laura Meredith and was preceded in death by her husband, Worth Utt and a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Utt Stoots and Ronald G. Stoots. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Bill Dawson, Fancy Gap; grandson and wife, Jimmy and Leigh Stoots, Meggett, S.C.; granddaughters and husbands, Angela and Glenwood Beamer, Hillsville, Lea Ann and Keith McCarty, Meggett, S.C. and Beth Dawson, Fancy Gap; five great-grandchildren; a very special care taker, Shirley Mabe. She was a member of Hillsville Christian Church and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #71 for many years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 29, 1996 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, Hillsville with the Rev. Robert Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Webb & Skyview Cemetery. WATSON, Zelma Martin, 79, of Salem, went to be with the Lord Sunday, April 28, 1996. She retired from Kenrose Manufacturing and was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband of over 50 years, Jessie W. Watson; daughter, Geraldine W. Watts and husband, George, Salem; granddaughters, Linda W. Thompson and husband, Johnny, Julie W. Saunders and husband, Brian all of Salem; grandson, Paul Watts, South Boston; four great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews including Thelma Wood and her husband, Lomax and their son, Darrell. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday at Oakey's North Chapel by the Rev. James M. Jennings. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Oakey's North Chapel.
