ROANOKE REGIONAL ECONOMIC INDICATORS

Travel on the Roanoke-area portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway improved nearly 9 percent in March from a year ago and 48.8 percent from February's 52,825 vehicles. Parkway officials counted 78,625 vehicles entering the road in March, compared with 72,140 in March 1995. Traffic on the entire Virginia portion of the parkway totaled 441,947 vehicles, up four percent.
