Federal drug agents in Roanoke arrested two men Thursday night after the men allegedly agreed to buy two kilograms of cocaine from an undercover agent.
Steve Dillon and James M. Williams Jr. were arrested on charges of possession with intent to distribute cocaine. Dillon also was charged with conspiracy.
An agent of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration offered to sell Dillon two kilograms of cocaine in a meeting Thursday night, according to a DEA affidavit filed in federal court. The meeting was arranged by a DEA informant, who told Dillon the agent was a cocaine supplier, the affidavit said.
Dillon showed the undercover agent $30,000 in cash in his vehicle and said he and his partner would probably buy at least four kilos a month from him in the future, the affidavit said.
Williams was arrested later at Dillon's apartment.
Agents said they found 19 ounces of cocaine in Dillon's Sunrise Avenue Northwest apartment and three handguns in Williams' apartment in Salem.
Both men appeared before a federal magistrate Friday and were denied bond.
