A 23-year-old woman told police she was raped early Tuesday in Northwest Roanoke.
Police gave this account:
The woman said she was at a restaurant in the 1700 block of Melrose Avenue Northwest and offered to pay a man to give her a ride to another restaurant. The man agreed, but then drove her to his home in the 3600 block of Mulberry Avenue Northwest.
The man hit the woman, demanding that she take off her clothes. When she refused, he hit her again. Police said he forced the woman to perform sodomy and then raped her.
The woman left the house and reported the incident to her grandfather. The woman was treated at Community Hospital of Roanoke Valley. No arrest has been made.
