A 27-year-old Wytheville man pleaded guilty to first-degree murder Wednesday in a beating death during an apparent robbery last August.
Anthony Quinn Allison, who was scheduled for a jury trial next week in Wythe County Circuit Court, changed his mind and entered the plea in the killing of Kenneth O. Addison, 58, of Wytheville, whose body was found in his Wytheville apartment.
Abduction and robbery charges against Allison were dropped. Circuit Judge Colin Campbell ordered a pre-sentence report before sentence is imposed Aug. 5.
Brenda Gail Tuggle, 23, of Saltville was also charged with murder and robbery in Addison's death. No trial date has been set for Tuggle.
At the time of Addison's death, Allison was free on bond on charges of breaking and entering and assault and battery stemming from an incident last July at a Wytheville trailer park.
