Kendig nominations sought
ROANOKE - This year's Kendig Award committee is requesting nominations from the public for individuals and businesses who have made outstanding contributions to the arts and culture in the Roanoke region. This annual award not only recognizes outstanding examples of support, involvement and accomplishments in the arts, but informs the community about the many contributions made to the arts in our area. Nomination forms are available from The Arts Council at 342-5790.
Roanoke City Art Show
ROANOKE - The 1996 Roanoke City Art Show will be displayed in the first floor gallery of The Art Museum of Western Virginia at Center in the Square in downtown Roanoke. The event, sponsored by The Arts Council of the Blue Ridge, is an annual juried exhibition open to all artisans from the Blue Ridge mountains who are 18 years of age or older. Deadlines for artists to enter slides for consideration is 3 p.m., Friday, May 31.
