Gordon K. Davies, director of the State Council of Higher Education, addressed 202 Ferrum College graduates Sunday at the school's spring commencement.
``I trust that you will fulfill your teachers' hopes, that you will be mindful of the human need for bread and roses, and that you will continue to look for truth. Always keep looking,'' Davies said.
Davies told students they had a responsibility to continue learning and to share their knowledge with those around them.
He also used Plato's famous cave analogy, which states that once a person has learned the truth, it is his responsibility to share it with those that are unenlightened.
