TRIMBLE BAILEY, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. Michael Bailey of Roanoke, was named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Mary Baldwin College.
LONGWOOD COLLEGE recently named the following Roanoke-area students to its fall semester dean's list.
Those from Roanoke are: Carrie Diane Brown, Karen Mason Carter, Kevin Michael Gagliostro, Tracey Nicole Setleff, Jayne Kathleen Sinclair and Julie Lynn Wood.
From Salem: Jennifer Nicole Hall, Wendy Leigh Kuehn and James Castleton Soltis.
Also named to the list are Laura Ashley Hale of Vinton, Heather Mangels of Blue Ridge and Deana Brooke Pinion of Troutville.
BENJAMIN O'DELL, son of Thomas and Marilyn O'Dell of Roanoke, recently was inducted into Sigma Pi Sigma, the national physics honor society. O'Dell is a senior at Guilford College in Greensboro, N.C., where he majors in physics and mathematics.
KATHERINE E. HAMES and HEATHER R. WISE recently received $1,000 leadership scholarships from Chic-fil-A Inc. Hames, a student at the College of William and Mary, was nominated by her employer, R. Dwayne Trottman, who operates the Chick-fil-A restaurant at Tanglewood Mall. Wise, a Liberty University student, was nominated by her employer, Bobby Ray Childress, who operates the Chick-fil-A at Valley View Mall. The company plans to award nearly 1,000 such scholarships this year.
JASON W. DOOLEY, son of Diane B. Ward, was selected to perform in Radford University's Spring Honors Recital as a percussionist.
Dooley is a senior music education major at the school.
LORI K. ALEXANDER, daughter of Walter and Grace Alexander of Buchanan, was given the department statistics award at James Madison University.
ROBYN MUNDY, daughter of Sue and Jack Mundy of Daleville, has been named for membership in the Sigma Mu Scholastic Society at Emory & Henry.
The Sigma Mu Scholastic Society the college's highest academic honor.
Mundy is a junior history major.
STEVEN D. CRIM and REBECCA ELLEN MOORE of Roanoke were recently named to the dean's list at Campbell University in Buies Creek, N.C., for the fall 1995 semester. ASHLEY M. MOORE of Fincastle was named to the president's list at the university.
CHRIS C. ROSEBERRY of Roanoke has been named to the dean's list for the winter quarter 1996 at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Ga.
GINGER HUDSON, daughter of Marian and Daniel Lewis of Roanoke, has been elected vice president for Emory & Henry College's new chapter of Psi Chi, the national honor society in psychology.
Hudson is a junior psychology major.
THREE ROANOKE COLLEGE STUDENTS, Steven E. Crowder, Michael E. Fadorick and Joe G Kirby, were named Academic All-Americans for earning at least a 3.5 grade point average while excelling on the school's cross country team during the fall semester. Crowder is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve E. Crowder of Fincastle. Kirby is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe G. Kirby III of Salem.
MARK L. FERGUSON, son of Sandra Ferguson of Roanoke and Larry Ferguson of Bedford, was awarded the Andrew W. Gottschall, Jr. Senior Excellence Award in Sociology/Anthropology from Guilford College. The award recognizes academic achievement and community service.
Ferguson graduated from Guilford in December 1995 with a major in sociology and anthropology.
AMANDA Y. PHILLIPS, daughter of Janet Phillips-Burrow of Roanoke and Steven N. Phillips of Lawrenceville, Ga., was one of 45 students to be named to the Guilford College Scholarship Society during the 1995-96 academic year. Phillips is a senior majoring in Spanish and international relations.
MARY WASHINGTON COLLEGE recently recognized two Roanoke-area students. Huyen Campbell is one of four students who received the J. Binford Walford Scholarship in Architecture and Related Areas. Ellen Harris received the Ann Elizabeth Collins Award.
MEENAKSHI JAIN of Roanoke has received a degree in engineering from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich.
ASHLEY WICKSTROM, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Wickstrom of Roanoke, has been named a recipient of the Leadership Scholarship at Grace College in Winona Lake, Ind.
The Leadership Scholarship is an award based on demonstrated excellence in campus leadership.
