FOR THE RECORD

William Ray Lindsey was sentenced to 20 years in prison, with 13 years suspended, after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in last year's killing of a Wythe County man with an ax. A story Thursday gave an incorrect sentence.

The girls' winner of the triple jump at the Blue Ridge District track and field championships was identified incorrectly in some of Thursday's editions. Wendy Heath of Lord Botetourt High School won the event.

Mill Mountain Theatre's Centerpiece will be staged Wednesday at 12:15 p.m. The date is omitted in today's Calendar of Events in Extra.

The Associated Press erroneously reported Wednesday in a story about a military police officer running for sheriff that Stan Farley was a former Putnam County commissioner. Farley never served as a county commissioner.
