TEACHER OF YEAR PICKED IN BEDFORD

The Bedford County School Board recognized Diane Poole, who teaches agriculture education at Staunton River High School, as its teacher of the year Thursday.

Charlotte Maxey, a fourth-grade teacher at Body Camp, is the elementary teacher of the year. Christy Craig, a special education teacher at Bedford Middle School, is the middle school teacher of the year.

Every year, each county school nominates a teacher for the honor, and one is selected at each level. Of those three, one is named the county's teacher of the year.
