Aeroquip Corp.'s plastics plant at Bassett in Henry County is being sold to GS Industries Holdings of Cleveland, the companies said Friday.
GS Industries has signed a purchase agreement with Aeroquip and expects to close the deal May 28, GS President Frank Glinski said. The selling price was not disclosed.
The Bassett plant makes custom-engineered injection-molded plastic products used by the furniture, appliance, electronics and telecommunication industries.
It currently employs about 85 people. Glinski said that he would like to introduce some new technologies at the plant, which could lead to increased employment.
Glinski formerly worked for Aeroquip as a plant manager, director of operations and director of product development and engineering services.
GS Industries Holdings currently owns GS Industries Inc., a chemical mixing company and maker of flexible plastic coatings, swimming pool paint, and polyester adhesives.
Aeroquip is a subsidiary of the Trinova Corp., a public shareholder company making engineered products for aerospace and automotive industries. Both companies are based in Maumee, Ohio.
