UNI-MART ROBBED; NO ONE INJURED

A man robbed a convenience store in Roanoke's Wasena neighborhood early Friday.

Police gave this account: About 5:04 a.m., a man walked into the Uni-Mart at 1115 Main St. S.W. The man brought a bottle of water to the counter, asked the clerk how to open the cash register and then opened it himself.

The robber took an undisclosed amount of money and food stamps, then fled on foot. No one was injured.
