FOR THE RECORD

In last week's column it was stated that the inflationary effect of raising the minimum wage might be as much as 5 percent to 7 percent over two years. In making this calculation, unfortunately, I got my decimal in the wrong place. It should have read five-tenths to seven-tenths of 1 percent. Obviously, the effect on government spending that is tied to the cost-of-living index, and interest rates, would be relatively insignificant, not significant, as was stated in error.
