DANCE DOINGS: The third International Dance Festival at the Sedalia Center will feature dancing from India, Bulgaria, Scotland, Vietnam and other countries on Saturday 1 p.m.-6 p.m. Workshops in line and folk dancing also will be conducted. A contra dance will kick things off tonight at 7:30 at the center, located in Big Island near Bedford. Admission per day is $6 for adults, $2 for children. Call (804) 299-5080.

Country Western competitions among nationally known dancers, workshops, exhibitions and dance parties will make up the Atlantic Seashore Spring Faire tonight through Sunday at the Holiday Inn Tanglewood. MAIN ATTRACTION: Bedford Main Street Inc. debuts its own version of First Fridays tonight with music by the Fat Ammons Band. The concert will take place from 5 p.m. to dusk on the Community Stage in the Farmer's Market on Washington Street. The $2 admission will help continue physical improvements in the Centertown area and underwrite additional entertainment. Call 586-2148.

SACRED SONGS: Michael Brown, the Living Free Choir and Angela Clemmons will perform at the Living Free banquet Sunday, 1:30 -3 p.m. at the Sheraton Airport Inn. The $12 admission will further Living Free's promotion of a drug-free lifestyle. Call 776-3293.

Visit First Presbyterian Church in Roanoke to hear 10 hymns backed by brass, percussion and organ and performed by the congregation plus a 100-voice chorus. There is no admission charge for the event, to be held Sunday at 4 p.m. Call 344-3204.

The Garth Newel Chamber Players will join the Christ Church Parish Choir in selections by Bach, Byrd and Handel. There is no cost for admission to the 5 p.m. concert at Christ Episcopal Church, Roanoke. Call 343-0159.

Brazilian pianist Arthur Moreira Lima's performance at 4 p.m. Sunday at Greene Memorial United Methodist Church, Roanoke, will benefit the recently formed Florianopolis Committee of the Roanoke Valley Sister Cities and its work with the Love's Little Nest orphanage in Brazil. FAMILY AFFAIR: Face painting, K-9 drug dog demonstrations, puppet shows and choral performances will all be part of the Family Rally Sunday from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. at Northside High School. Admission is free. Call 561-8155.

FESTIVAL FLAVOR: United States jazz ensemble, The Airmen of Note, will preview Roanoke's upcoming Festival in the Park with a concert of big band and other musical styles. The 7:30 p.m. performance Monday at Elmwood Park in downtown Roanoke is free. Bring a picnic dinner, if you'd like.

The Festival's black-tie, fund-raising kickoff Thursday at the Patrick Henry Hotel will have a Mardi Gras theme and will include music, abundant Louisiana cuisine, a casino and silent auction. Tickets cost $25 in advance, $35 at the door. Call 342-2640.

ATRIUM OPERA: Guest artists Elizabeth Comeaux and Dan Dressen, featured in Opera Roanoke's upcoming production of Candide, will perform at noon Wednesday in the Fralin Atrium of the Jefferson Center in Roanoke. Bring lunch if you'd like to the free presentation. Call 982-2742.
