The Commonwealth Transportation Board will hold its last public hearing on the allotment of highway construction funds for the 1996-1997 fiscal year at the Virginia Department of Transportation's Salem District office in Salem on June 6.
Anyone who wants to comment on proposed funding for interstate or primary highways and roads in cities and towns in the Salem, Bristol, Lynchburg and Staunton transportation districts should attend the hearing.
Virginia Secretary of Transportation Robert Martinez, Highway Commissioner David Gehr and members of the Transportation Board will conduct the hearing. Copies of the proposed construction plan will be available at the hearing or may be obtained from district offices.
The hearing will begin at 9 a.m. and will be held in VDOT's district office at 713 Harrison Ave.
