'SMART' ROAD COMMENT DEADLINE NEAR

Public comments regarding the proposed "smart" highway will be taken by Montgomery County until noon Tuesday.

By June 10, the county Board of Supervisors will be making a key vote on whether the state can take land for the road out of a county conservation district.

Comments should be mailed to: County Administrator Betty Thomas, Attention: Smart Road Committee, P.O. Box 806, Christiansburg, Va., 24073.
