FESTIVAL OFFERS FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE TO DOWNTOWN EVENTS

On ``Salute to Seniors'' day, Tuesday, Festival in the Park will provide free shuttle service downtown between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. The shuttle will make stops at the Salem Civic Center on the hour and at the intersection of 23rd Street and Brandon Avenue (lower lot, near Towers Shopping Center) on the half hour.

Festival's regular free shuttle service, which runs from 23rd Street at Brandon Avenue (again, the lower lot near Towers) and back, will be in effect on Friday to Victory Stadium (between 6:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.), and on today to the river (between 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.). All shuttles have wheelchair lifts.

Throughout Festival, you can park free in the Williamson Road and Church Avenue parking garages. Handicap parking will be available on the south side of Franklin Road between Jefferson Street and Williamson Road, except during the Children's Parade (Sunday) and the Antique Car Show (June 1). On those days, handicap parking will be at the IBM parking lot at Williamson Road and Franklin Road (enter on Williamson). Handicap parking is also available at the east gate of Victory Stadium.

Free parking is in effect during Festival hours.
