Four people have been promoted to management positions in American Electric Power's Southwestern Virginia-Tennessee regional office in Wytheville.
They are James L. Blevins, who will become region administrator; Fran DeBellis, engineering manager; Fred W. Myers, customer services manager; and William F. Valley, operations manager.
Blevins, a Fugazzi Business College graduate, joined AEP in 1965 in Fort Wayne, Ind. Following Army service during the Vietnam war, he transferred to Roanoke as a work order accounting clerk and advanced through several positions until he became supervisor for planning and engineering in Columbus, Ohio, earlier this year.
DeBellis, a Virginia Tech graduate in electrical engineering, began his AEP career in 1979 as an electrical engineer in Bluefield, W.Va. He has been engineering supervisor in Pulaski since 1985.
Myers, who holds an associate degree in accounting from New River Community College, joined AEP in 1965 as a meter reader in Pulaski. His most recent promotion, in 1981, was to the position of customer services supervisor.
Valley also holds an electrical engineering degree from Virginia Tech. His first AEP job was as an electrical engineer in Roanoke. He was named transmission and distribution director in Kingsport, Tenn., in 1989.
