CHAS. LUNSFORD SONS & ASSOCIATES INC. of Roanoke is one of four recipients of the 1995 "Producer of Distinction Award" which recognizes outstanding performance by Royal Insurance agencies in Virginia.

CHARLES B. CHAMBERLAIN, senior agent for the Principal Financial Group, has been recognized as the leading agent in the Roanoke office for 1995. Chamberlain, who joined Principal in 1992, has led the office in sales for the past four years and has received various achievement awards, most recently the Century Club and Honor Council Award.

LONNIE E. HUFF, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward P. Huff of Roanoke, has been elected information services officer of Wachovia Operational Services Corp. in Winston-Salem, N.C. He is a senior analyst/programmer in the systems development group.

THE SALEM MERCHANTS ASSOCIATION has elected officers and board members for 1996: Sally Nunley, Grandma's Attic, president; Bob Bower, Commonwealth Inspection Services, vice president; Carole Brackman, Multimedia Creations, secretary; and Patrick Smith, Robert Cadd & Co., treasurer. Directors are David Lewis, Northwest True Value Hardware; Larry Brewer, The Reproduction Shop; Roger Bryant, The Salem Phone Directory; Howard "Mooch" Semones, Spartan Silk Screen; and Brenda Bower, Amrhein's Brides, Formals & Fine Jewelry.

T. DUNCAN ABERNATHY, who is now a Richmond journalist and architect, and who formerly was an editor with The Roanoke Times & World News for five years, has joined the staff of the Virginia Society of the American Institute of Architects as director of government affairs. He has also assumed editorial responsibility for VSAIA News, the organization's bimonthly newsletter.
