A 39-year-old Floyd man was seriously injured Thursday night when his car overturned into a creek.
Ricky Harrell apparently fell asleep at the wheel about 7:50, and his car drifted off Virginia 637 and struck a culvert. His car then flipped over and landed in an unnamed creek near the Blue Ridge Parkway, state police said.
Harrell was flown to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where a nursing supervisor said he was in critical condition.
Police continue to investigate the accident.
