'SMART' ROAD MEETINGS SET FOR WED.

The following advisory bodies of the Montgomery County government will meet Wednesday to make their recommendations on the "smart" road in advance of the county Board of Supervisors' June 10 meeting:

11:30 a.m., the Montgomery Regional Economic Development Commission meets in the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center's administrative building, conference room.

7 p.m., the Montgomery County Planning Commission meets at the law library on the fourth floor of the Montgomery County Courthouse.

7:30 p.m., the Agricultural and Forestal District Advisory Committee, meets in the third-floor board room, Montgomery County Courthouse.

The Board of Supervisors' June 10 meeting will be held at the Christiansburg High School auditorium. The board changed the meeting place because of the expected crowd that will come to hear the supervisors' decision on the Virginia Department of Transportation's request to condemn nearly 140 acres for the proposed road in a county agricultural and forestal district. While the meeting will not include a public hearing, citizens may sign up to speak during the regular public address portion, but comments during that part of the meeting are usually limited to three minutes per speaker within a total 30-minute time limit.
