FERGUSON, Mary Frances Johnson, 73, of Moneta, passed away Monday, June 3, 1996, in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was b orn August 12, 1922, in Franklin County, a daughter of the late James Johnson and Lizzie Bobbitt Johnson. She was a retired employee of the Rubatex Corp. and was a member of the Radford Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Marvin Ferguson, a brother, William Johnson, a sister Evelyn Dillon and a stepgrandson, Harry Rowland. She is survived by her husband, John Thomas Ferguson; a daughter, Betty Rowland, Moneta; two sisters, Virginia Robertson, Roanoke, Margie Woods, Goodview; a granddaughter, Chalet Rowland, Salem; two stepgranchildren, Oneida Eddy, Randy Rowland; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Tiffany Eddy and Megan Rowland. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 5, 1996, at 2 p.m. from the Radford Baptist Church by the Rev. Vernon DeLong and the Rev. Jim Carroll. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Updike Funeral Home, Bedford.
GODSEY, Carl Dodge, (``C.D.""), of Stuart, passed away on Friday, May 31, 1996, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Salem. He had suffered from cancer. Mr. Godsey was born the son of Wiley Winston and Maude Guthrie Godsey in Appomattox, on July 4, 1923. He enlisted in the Navy prior to the U.S. entry into World War II and was assigned as a gunners mate to the destroyer escort U.S.S. Manley. He fought in several South Pacific engagements. Upon the conclusion of the war, he joined the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Board as an investigator, and was assigned to Patrick County. After approximately twenty years in law enforcement, he was employed for several years at Masonite in Stuart. He was a Mason and a member of the Stuart Baptist Church. Mr. Godsey enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He is survived by two children, Debi Moran of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and Wayne Godsey of St. Louis, Mo.; his mother, Maude Godsey of Kilmarnock, Va.; one brother, Wiley ``Demp"" Godsey of Reidville, Va.; one sister, Dorothy McKinney of Cheverly, Md.; and four grandchildren. Frances Godsey; his former wife and previously a resident of Stuart, resides in Concord, Va. It was Mr. Godsey's request that there be no public service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in his name to the American Cancer Society of Patrick County or to the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation .

HUBER, Violet Lockhart, 76, of Salem, passed away Sunday, June 2, 1996. She was employed with Andrew Lewis Family Restaurant and the Regina Motor Lodge. She is survived by her mother, Ethel B. Lockhart, Salem; granddaughter, Teresa Graham, Shawsville; great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Ricky and Rachel Graham, all of Shawsville; very special friends, Ken Hamby, Winston-Salem, N.C., Cornelia Wills, Moneta, Mark Hartman, Roanoke and Peggy Jackson, Salem; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rudolph and Ruth Sheffield, Lynchburg. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 1996. at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Salem, with the Rev. Leonard L. Southern and the Rev. J. W. Hatton, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Princeton, W.Va. at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
INGRAM, Grady, 72, of Ferrum, passed away Monday, June 3, 1996. He was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church, Rt. 1, Henry, Va., a v eteran of WWII, where he served as a medic in the Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Grover Ingram and Sue Meadors Ingram Mullins. Surviving are his wife, Marcella D. Ingram, of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary Lee and Georgeann Ingram of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Laura E. Ingram, Meghan A. Ingram, Marci A. Ingram; stepgrandson, Hunter T. Johnson; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Estelle and Paul Jones of Henry, Buford and grace Ingram, H. D. and Rena Ingram, all of Ferrum; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 1996 at Mill Creek Baptist Church, Henry, Va., with the Rev. Thomas Teems officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. LLOYD, Bolivar J., (``Bud''), of Colonial Heights, departed this life Sunday, June 2, 1996. Mr. Lloyd was retired from the federal government after 30 years in Cancer Research at the National Institute of Health and from Medical College of Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis F. Lloyd of Colonial Heights; and daughter, Sharon L. Demps; a son-in-law, Billy Demps; and two grandchildren, William and Katherine; a son, David R. Lloyd, and hi s wife, Rusty; and their two children, Erin and Michael. A memorial service will be held at Immanuel Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, with the Rev. Jerry Parker officiating. ROBBINS, Maynard Leonard, 65, of Pearisburg, died Saturday evening, June 1, 1996, in the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Salem. Born January 30, 1931, in Smyth County, he was a son of William T. Robbins of Pearisburg and the late Annie Uva Robbins. Maynard was a minister of the gospel in the Apostolic faith, was a retired supervisor with A. P. Green Lime Co., Kimballton Plant, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by a brother, Reginald Robbins; and a sister, Lottie Cullop. Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Farley Robbins; three sons, Maynard L. Robbins Jr. of East Palo Alto, Calif. David Robbins and Jimmy Robbins, both of Pearisburg; one daughter, Joyce R. White of Nashville, Tenn.; three brothers, Edward Robbins and Curtis Robbins of Pearisburg, and Roy Robbins of Rock Falls, Ill; three sisters, Margie Cahill of Saltville, Mildred Lindsey and Pansy Huff of Pearisburg; one granddaughter, Sara Nicole Robbins of Pearisburg. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 6, 1996, at 2 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel, Pembroke, with the Rev. Eddie Kendall, the Rev. Raymond Coake, and the Rev. ROBERTS, Clarence H. Jr., 73, of Falls Church and formerly of Roanoke, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 1996. Surviving are his wife, Rosemary Roberts, Falls Church; daughter and son-in-law, Leigh and Wayne Barner; three grandsons, Timothy, David, and Michael Barner, all of Lovettesville; mother, Lillian M. Roberts, Roanoke; two sisters, Catherine Sigmon, Roanoke, Shirley Hudgins, both of Roanoke; two brothers, Donald Roberts, Parkton, Md., James Roberts, Washington, D.C.
