Business ATM card created
First Union Corp. has introduced a card that will give small businesses access to their commercial bank accounts by automated teller machines, a service formerly limited to individuals.
Until now, said spokeswoman Alexis Ellison, commercial depositors could not use ATMs unless a consumer account was tied to the business account.
The new products include the Business 24-Hour Banking card, which works like a consumer ATM card and provides access to business deposits using a personal identification number; an ATM and debit card that can be used to make purchases from any merchant who accepts Visa; and a deposit-only check card that performs only that function at an ATM.
The first two cards are limited to sole proprietorships, partnerships and companies that do not require multiple signatures. They are targeted toward business owners, partners and select employees authorized to transact business. |- Staff report Boones Mill calls
