Main Street parade goes dark at Disneyland
Disneyland has announced it will pull the plug on its venerable Main Street Electrical Parade in October.
You still have a little more than four months to watch the 40 light-dotted floats that depict such Disney classics as Cinderella, Pinocchio, Mickey Mouse - many towering as high as 112 feet above the street.
Not to worry: Those wizards at Disney already have a new night-time spectacular swimming on their drawing boards.

Las Vegas may surpass Orlando as top travel spot
More Americans plan to travel this summer than last, and Las Vegas is shaping up as the top destination, surpassing even Orlando, judging by a survey of U.S. travel agencies.
The American Society of Travel Agents surveyed 158 randomly selected agencies in late April and early May, asking about their summer bookings.
When the agencies were asked to name the top five domestic destinations they were booking, Las Vegas was cited by 46.8 percent; Orlando, Fla., by 28.5 percent; New York by 23.4 percent; Seattle by 14.6 percent; and Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington, each named by 11 percent.
The survey was taken before gas prices rose nationwide, but a society spokesman did not expect that would significantly affect the travel outlook suggested by the survey.
