The Service-Learning Center at Virginia Tech has awarded three faculty incentive grants to departments in the College of Arts and Sciences. The grants are $3,000 each.
The Department of Psychology received the grant to assist in the continuation of the Blood Alcohol Concentration Feedback and Education project in Blacksburg. The Department of Biology grant will assist the implementation of the Stroubles Creek Project. The Department of English will use the grant to assist implementation of its course on Becoming Readers and Writers: What It Means to be Literate, in which participants will work with conversation partners at the Cranwell Center and with second-graders at Margaret Beeks Elementary.
The faculty incentive grant program is made possible by a grant from the Corporation for National Service.
