MAKE THE MOST OF DAD'S DAY HERE'S A CELEBRATORY MENU THAT COVERS SAVORY TO SWEET

This year, celebrate Father's Day with a feast that the family will remember. If the outdoors turns Dad on, fire up the grill and fix several kinds of pork chops, easily varied by altering the marinades.

Worcestershire sauce is a best bet for a piquant marinade base. It's also a healthy way to add flavor because it has no fat or cholesterol. Delicious as it might be, though, for safety, discard any leftover marinade - do not reuse.

While the grill's still hot, set up a side-dish kabob bar and get everyone involved. Have kids wash their favorite fruits and vegetables for grown-ups to slice. Fill small bowls with pineapple chunks, green, red and yellow pepper squares, cherry tomatoes, onion wedges and button mushrooms. Then let kids thread veggie skewers with colorful combinations that adults can brush with melted butter and grill. If using bamboo skewers, soak them in water for about an hour before using so they won't burn on the grill.

Remove silks and husks from fresh corn and moisten each ear with water. Wrap in foil and roast about 8-10 minutes, turning to roast evenly. Serve with butter, flavored with Worcestershire sauce.

For maximum safety around the heat, remember, adults only at the grill. Let the little ones help, but keep them at a safe distance.

Use flame-proof mitts and keep handy a fire extinguisher and a box of bicarbonate of soda to quell any flames that get out of hand.

To really show Dad how sweet you think he is, bake him an edible Chocolate Greeting Card Cake and decorate it with a personalized greeting.
