NationsBank puts ATMs in Stop Ins
NationsBank has opened automated teller machines in five Stop In Food Stores in the Roanoke Valley.
Douglas Waters, executive for the bank's Mountain Region, said the off-site locations are part of a corporate-wide plan to expand the bank's ATM network by adding machines in nontraditional locations such as gas stations and convenience stores.
"Today's consumers are looking for more convenience and easier access to cash," Waters said Wednesday.
The Stop In stores with the new ATMs are at 2941 Hershberger Road and 3890 Brambleton Ave., both in Roanoke; and 1622 E. Main St., 351 Wildwood Road and 1601 Electric Road in Salem.
The machines are available for cash withdrawals, account balance inquiries and account transfers. They do not accept deposits and payments.
NationsBank has 10 ATMs in the Roanoke Valley, with one scheduled to open this fall on Peters Creek Road.
Three Stop In convenience stores in Lynchburg now have NationsBank ATMs, and additional machines will open at Stop Ins in Charlottesville and elsewhere across the state.
