MUSHROOMS BRING INDICTMENT FOR STUDENT

A Radford University student was indicted last week by a Circuit Court grand jury on one count of possession of hallucinogenic mushrooms with intent to distribute.

Todd Anthony Trumpower, 22, was released on a $10,000 bond after his May 15 arrest.

A search warrant served by the Montgomery County Drug Task Force and the Rockbridge Task Force along with Radford police resulted in the seizure of a small amount of mushrooms from Trumpower's home in the 400 block of Downey Street.

Trumpower's home was searched along with two other university students' the night of the raid.

Officers found 250 marijuana plants, in various stages of growth, as well as supplies used to grow marijuana at the two other residences.

Andrew P. Lawton, 23, and Michael E. Puhalski, 19, were arrested on one count of manufacturing marijuana. A preliminary hearing date has been set for July 29 for both men on those charges.
