ALTIZER, Clydia Roop, 80, of Radford, passed away Monday, June 17, 1996. She was a member of the Radford Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons, Richard C. Bishop of Riner, and Robert Wayne Bishop of Dublin; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Bertha Estes of Riner. The funeral ceremony will be held Thursday, June 20, 1996 at 11 a.m. at the Radford Church of Christ with Larry Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. GREEN, Luther F. Sr., 61, of Callaway, died Monday, June 17, 1996 at his residence. He was retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation with 27 years service and was preceded in death by a son, Charles David Green. Surviving are his wife, Annetta Green; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Harvey Green, Roanoke, Lewis and Mary Green, Rocky Mount, Luther F. Green Jr., Rocky Mount; two daughters and one son-in-law, Sherry and John Londres, Cherry Hill, N.J., Julia Sweet, Florida; seven grandchildren, William, Charles, David, Havilah, Sam, Michael, and Ellen; four sisters, Lois Green, Rocky Mount, Bertha Guilliams, Reecie DeWeese both of Roanoke, Audrey Nichols, Callaway; mother-in-law, Pauline Fisher; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Thursday with the Revs. Gerald and Rebecca Baile Crouse officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Family Cemetery. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Boones Mill Rescue Squad. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday with the family receiving friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service and other times at the home of Lewis and Mary Green.

GREENE, Maynard Campbell, 85, of Buena Vista, died Tuesday, June 18, 1996 at Augusta Medical Center, Fisherville. Born June 14, 1911 in Rockbridge Co., he was the son of the late John William Greene and Pearl Crist Greene Chrisman. Mr. Green was a member and Treasurer of Marvin United Methodist Church at Cornwall, Buena Vista Masonic Lodge #186 and was a retired auditor for Krogers, with 32 years service. He was active in the Republican Party, served on the County Road Commission and also on the County Emergency 911 Project. Mr. Greene also ran the South River Market with his wife for 28 years. His wife, Nannie H. Greene, preceded him in death. Surviving are two sons, Earl W. Greene, Ann Arbor, Mich., E. Twyman Greene, Edinburg; one daughter, Faye G. Bradshaw, Lexington; one brother, Ronald Greene, Brownsburg; three half sisters, Katherine Pirkey, Grottoes, Emerson Gibson, and Carrie Lawhorne, both of Waynesboro; one half brother, Robert Crisman, Newport News; special nephew, Hamilton C. (H.C.) Greene, Angier, N.C.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 21, 1996, at 11 a.m. from the Harrison Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Ray Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Timber Ridge A.R.P. Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Harrison Funeral Home.

HAWKINS, Terry L., 53, of Garland, Texas, formerly of Roanoke, passed away Monday, June 17, 1996, at his residence after a brief cancer illness. He is survived by his wife, Linda Davis Hawkins; son, Aaron Hawkins, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; daughters and sons-in-law, Kim H. and Terry Walker, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Shannon and Mike Nuckolls, Cary, N.C., Susan A. Davis, Roanoke; a granddaughter, Jordan Nuckolls; his brothers, Gary Hawkins, Charlotte, N.C., Skip Hawkins, Bradford, N.Y.; a sister, Dawn H. Traver, Chino Valley, Ariz. He was employed by Ingersoll-Rand for 35 years at various locations including Roanoke, and was a member of First Baptist Church, Roanoke. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's North Chapel Saturday, June 22, 1996, at 11:30 a .m. with Dr. Charles G. Fuller officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. MORRIS, James C. Jr., 85, of Roanoke, died Monday, June 17, 1996, after a brief illness. He was a retired engineer with The Colgate Palmolive Co. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, LaVelle Morris; son and daughter-in-law, James C. III and Dixie Morris; three grandchildren, Matthew and his wife, Holt, James, and John. Burial will be in Louisville, Ky. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House or the Korsair Crippled Children's Hospital in Louisville, Ky. MUNDY, James Alexander III, 87, of Roanoke, died Monday, June 17, 1996 at home. He was the widower of Margaret Casey Mundy, a member of Christ Episcopal Church, and was retired from American Electric Power Company. Surviving are a son, James Alexander Mundy IV, Westfield, Mass.; a daughter, Nancy Mundy Ford, Roanoke; five grandchildren, James Alexander Mundy V, Victoria Mundy, Charlotte Mundy, Robin Buzby Lewis, Jane Buzby Goode; two great-grandchildren, Alexander Peter Mundy, Casey Lea Lewis. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday from Christ Episcopal Church with the Rev. Dr. James R. Henry officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Burial Park. NOTCHIE, Patsy P., 77, of Hillsville, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 1996 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Salem. He was born September 23, 1918 in West Virginia. He is survived by his w ife, Helen W. Notchie, of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Darby Cox, Hillsville; three sisters, Makina Murray, Baltimore, Md., Josephine Sigmon, Logan, W. Va., Polly Dials, Man, W. Va.; three brothers, Larry Notchie, Bronx, N.Y., Rocky Notchie, Northfork, W. Va., Fred Notchie, Miami, Fla.; three grandchildren, Sandy Davis, Beth Inman, Shannon Cox; and five great-grandchildren. RICHARDSON, Jerry Glenn, 41, of Rich Creek, died Tuesday morning June 18, 1996 in the Princeton Community Hospital, Princeton, W.Va. A lifelong resident of Giles Co., he was born on August 19, 1954. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patsy Hare Richardson . He was an employee of the Kroger Company in Princeton, W.Va. He is survived by his father and stepmother, James W. and Carolyn Richardson, Pearisburg, Va.; his daughter and her husband, Paula R. and Steve Burks, Bluefield, W.Va.; a brother, Wayne Mann, Pearisburg, Va.; two sisters, Debbie R. Tebeaco and Jackie R. Erwin both of Richmond, Va. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Riffe's Funeral Service with the Rev. Donald E. Stansell officiating. Mr. Semones was born in Radford, Va., was a graduate of Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Va., in 1964, and was a Certified Public Accountant. TATE, Clayton James, 78, of Roanoke passed away Tuesday, June 18, 1996. Mr. Tate was an ordained Baptist Minister having preached in Tennessee, Kentucky and West Virginia. Until recently he was a member of R oanoke Valley Baptist Temple where he sang in the choir and the Trio. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served during World War II. Surviving are his devoted wife of 44 years, Betty Graham Tate; three daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Don Webb, Midlothian, Rebecca and Will Brooks, Jacksonville, Fla., Tenita and David Ostrowski, Blue Ridge; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Mr. Tate was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 1996 at Lotz Roanoke Chapel with the Rev. Carter L. Sloan officiating. TOLER, Sarah Etta, 74, of Glade Hill, died Tuesday, June 18, 1996. Born October 23, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Willie S. Doss Toler. Surviving are one sister, Vanna Toler Allman of Glade Hill; two brothers, Lundy D. Toler of Glade Hill, Kermit O. Toler of Rocky Mount; several nieces and nephews; special neighbors and friends also survive.
