GINGER HUDSON, daughter of Marian and Daniel Lewis of Roanoke, has been elected vice president for Emory & Henry College's new chapter of Psi Chi, the national honor society in psychology.
Hudson is a junior psychology major.
CHRIS C. ROSEBERRY of Roanoke has been named to the dean's list for the winter quarter 1996 at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Ga.
STEVEN E. CROWDER, son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve E. Crowder of Fincastle; MICHAEL E. FADORICK of Roanoke; and JOE G. KIRBY, Mr. and Mrs. Joe G. Kirby III, of Salem, were named Academic All-Americans for fall semester sports.
Crowder, Fadorick and Kirby are students at Roanoke College.
MARK L. FERGUSON, son of Sandra Ferguson of Roanoke and Larry Ferguson of Bedford, was awarded the Andrew W. Gottschall, Jr. Senior Excellence Award in Sociology/Anthropology from Guilford College. The award recognizes academic achievement and community service.
Ferguson graduated from Guilford in December 1995 with a major in sociology and anthropology.
AMANDA Y. PHILLIPS, daughter of Janet Phillips-Burrow of Roanoke and Steven N. Phillips of Lawrenceville, Ga., was one of 45 students to be named to the Guilford College Scholarship Society during the 1995-96 academic year. Phillips is a senior majoring in Spanish and international relations.
MARY WASHINGTON COLLEGE recently recognized two Roanoke-area students. Huyen Campbell is one of four students who received the J. Binford Walford Scholarship in Architecture and Related Areas. Ellen Harris received the Ann Elizabeth Collins Award.
MEENAKSHI JAIN of Roanoke has received a degree in engineering from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich.
ASHLEY WICKSTROM, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Wickstrom of Roanoke, has been named a recipient of the Leadership Scholarship at Grace College in Winona Lake, Ind.
The Leadership Scholarship is an award based on demonstrated excellence in campus leadership.
JONATHAN EDWARD SHORTER, son of Margaret P. and George W. Shorter of Roanoke, is among several high school seniors chosen by North Carolina State University to receive scholarships in the university's annual Merit Awards Program competition.
Shorter plans to major in pulp and paper science and chemical engineering.
CHRISTOPHER LYNN KEPLEY, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard H. Kepley of Roanoke, received a doctorate in immunology from the Medical College of Virginia. Kepley is completing his post-doctoral work at the University of New Mexico in Alberquerque.
LAURIE MCGHEE, daughter of Sam and Sara McGhee of Roanoke, received the Outstanding Student Award in Virginia Tech's College of Forestry and Wildlife Resources for her exceptional academic, extracurricular, and professional leadership.
Laurie is a senior majoring in forestry resource management at Virginia Tech.
SUZANNE EDWARDS and REBEKAH FENZEL, both of Roanoke, have been named to the dean's list at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg.
Edwards, daughter of Alfred and Kathleen Edwards, is a junior majoring in music/elementary education.
Fenzel, daughter of Lawrence and Ella Fenzel, is a senior majoring in nursing.
ANTHONY C. PRILLAMAN of Roanoke has recently been inducted into Phi Kappa Phi, a national honor society that promotes the pursuit of excellence in all fields of higher education.
Anthony is a senior majoring in Agriculture Economics at Virginia Tech.
JULIE ANN CARPER, daughter of Steve and Teresa Frye and Guy Robinette, all of Roanoke, recently graduated from Shenandoah University in Winchester with a master's degree in occupational therapy.

ERIN KATHLEEN MACHADO, of Roanoke, received a bachelor of arts degree in English from East Carolina University, Greenville, N.C.
AMANDA GAIL FRAZIER, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Edwin R. Frazier of Roanoke, is the recipient of a $1,000 I. Ruth Martin scholarship and a $250 Mae P. Ayers scholarship. She is a senior majoring in English at Mars Hill College, Mars Hill, N.C.
