BUTCHER, Jack, 64, of Roanoke, died Thursday, June 20, 1996, in a Roanoke Hospital. Mr. Butcher was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, a retired employee of Norfolk Southern Railway and a member of the Elks Lodge #197 B.P.O.E. DONALD, Marshall Anther, 53, of Vinton, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 1996 at the Veterans Hospital in Salem. He was employed with the Mascotech Body System of Sale m. He served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He was preceded in death by his father, Huet Donald; and brother, Bobby Donald. Survivors include his wife, Janice (Sue) Donald; a special grandson, Jacob Adam Frith of the home; stepchildren, William Statome of Roanoke, Elizabeth Statome of Vinton; four additional grandchildren; his mother, Minnie Bolt Donald of Roanoke; two brothers, Huet Edward Donald of Mo., Richard A. Decorations and campaigns included the Good Conduct Medal, American Theatre Ribbon, European-Africa-Middle Eastern Ribbon, World War II Victory Ribbon, and the Bronze Star for meritorious achievement in ground combat in the European-African Middle Eastern Theatre of Operations. He was retired from the N&W Railroad after 30 years of service as a welder in the East End Shops. He was a member of VFW Post 4522. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita June Poff. RICHARDSON, Carrie Delp, 66, of Melbourne, Fla., formerly of Salem, died Monday, June 17, 1996, at her home. She was employed for several years with DuPont in Martinsville prior to moving to Brevard County, Fla. in 1969. She was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Melbourne, Fla. and a member of the Christian Women's Fellowship. Mrs. Richardson was born in Marion, Va. on July 5, 1929. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Katie Glass. Surviving are her husband of 45 years, Ephraim O. Richardson, of the home; one daughter, Wanda Richardson of West Melbourne, Fla.; three brothers, Charles Delp, Thomas Delp, and Bobby Delp, all of Salem; two sisters, Margaret Anne Kirby and Virginia ``Jenny"" Loving, both of Salem; and one half sister, Blanche Firestone of Marion, Va. WOODS, James Edward, 59, of Pembroke, died at his home on Wednesday, June 19, 1996, following a long illness. Jim was a U. S. Army veteran, and a member of Pembroke United Methodist Church and Castle Rock Masonic Lodge #334 A.F.&A.M. of Pembroke. He also was a member of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #21 of the New River Valley and the Virginia Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators. Jim was born in Pearisburg on August 13, 1936, a son of the late Buford (``Boots"") Woods and Yholande Martin Woods. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Billie Kathryn Fletcher. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Sagel Woods of Pembroke; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Craig W. Woods of Berlin, Germany, and Curtis M. and Kate Woods, and Chris E. Woods of Pearisburg; one sister, Beverley W. Ballard of Tampa, Fla., and several devoted nieces and nephews.
