CCS expansion in Christiansburg

CHRISTIANSBURG - Comprehensive Computer Solutions is expanding, a year after moving to its new home in the Christiansburg Industrial Park.

Since the move, CCS has doubled its work force and seen its business increase by 116 percent. The expansion will add 10,000 square feet.

The company, established in 1981, provides computer services to local and international firms.

Job counseling service to relocate

BLACKSBURG - Employment Counseling Service, which helps its clients find jobs, will move to Radford to be more centrally located for its New River Valley and Roanoke customers.

Owner Kathryn Jordan had opened in Blacksburg to take advantage of the Blacksburg Electronic Village. She is moving as of July 1 to the Tyler Office Plaza on Downey Street because Internet access now is readily available virtually everywhere.

The business will begin offering weekly group sessions, job search support groups and video-tape mock interview sessions.

Jordan recently received accreditation as a National Certified Career Counselor. She is a 23-year New River Valley resident who held outreach positions at Virginia Tech and Radford University.

The phone number for ECS will be 663-1JOB (1562), and it will maintain its toll-free number, (800) 775-AJOB. Its Internet site is www.ajob4u.com.
