Casey-Williams

Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Casey of Roanoke, Virginia, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Shannon Suzanne Casey, to Mr. James Whitfield Williams, III, son of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Williams, Jr. of Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Miss Casey is a graduate of Cave Spring High School in Roanoke County, Virginia. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Virginia Tech and is currently a CPA employed by Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Mr. Williams is a graduate of Stafford High School in Stafford County, Virginia. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech and is currently a systems engineer at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Dahlgren, Virginia. He will be receiving a Master of Science degree in Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech in December.

An October wedding is planned.

Childress-Futrell

Mr. and Mrs. Kerry Childress of Indianapolis, Indiana wish to announce the engagement of their daughter, Bethany Michelle Childress, to Ryan Laurin Futrell, son of Stephen and Terrie Futrell of Roanoke, Va. The wedding will take place on July 20, 1996 in Indianapolis.

Wade-Bowles

Elizabeth Wade and Richard Bowles are engaged and planning to be married on August 17, 1996, in Roanoke. Elizabeth is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wade of Roanoke. She graduated from Cave Spring and from Roanoke College. She is employed by Lutheran Family Services. Richard is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bowles of Princeton, W. Va. He graduated from Princeton Senior High and served in the United States Air Force. He is employed by Network Integrators.

Smelser-Williams

Mr. and Mrs. Harold G. Smelser are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Valerie Anne, to John Douglas Williams. Valerie is a graduate of Glenvar High School and Roanoke College. She is employed by Carter Machinery Co., Inc., in Salem. Doug is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Harrah and the late Phillip Williams. He is a graduate of Glenvar High School and Va. Western Comm. College and will attend Radford University in the fall. An October 12, 1996, wedding is planned.

Crigger-Cooper

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Richard Crigger are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Tammy Jane, to Mr. Donnie Cooper of Christiansburg. He is the son of Mr. Charles Cooper and Ms. Carlie Cooper, both of Christiansburg.

The bride to be is a 1983 graduate of Pulaski County High School and is employed at Federal Mogul Corp.

The groom to be is a 1981 graduate of Blacksburg High School and is also employed at Federal Mogul Corp.

Bullington-Gomez

Mr. and Mrs. James N. Bullington joyfully announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Carroll Bullington, to Arturo Gomez, son of Elia Perez de Gomez and the late Federico Gomez of Veracruz, Mexico. The bride-elect, her parents, and the groom-to-be all live in Roanoke. Laura is a graduate of Cave Spring High School and the University of Virginia. Arturo received his education in Mexico. A summer wedding is planned

Hoback-Caldwell

Heather Renee Hoback and Paul Brown Caldwell, Jr., are engaged and planning to be married May 1997 in Roanoke. Heather is the daughter of Gary and Theresa Hoback, Roanoke. She graduated from Cave Spring High and attended Va. Western Comm. College and Radford University. She is employed by Bright Services. Paul is the son of Paul B. Caldwell, Sr., Roanoke, and Carolyn Parker, Virginia Beach. He graduated form Cave Spring High and is employed by Roanoke City.

Mills-Bushnell

Mr. and Mrs. Ray E. Mills of Roanoke, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Teresa Lynn to Stephen R. Bushnell, son of the late Sarah Palmer Bushnell of Roanoke. Ms. Mi lls is a graduate of Patrick Henry High School and The Medical College of Virginia School of Pharmacy. Mr. Bushnell is a graduate of William Fleming High School. An October wedding is planned

Lumbo-Wolfe

Mrs. Anastactio Lumbo and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Chapman of Roanoke announce the engagement of their daughter, Jacqueline Elizabeth, to Brian R. Wolfe, son of Mrs. Ann Wolfe of Palm Beach, Florida and Dr. Harvey I. Wolfe of Boca Raton, Florida.

Ms. Lumbo graduated from Oak Hill Academy and majored in History at Marymount College in New York. She is employed by Natural Products Packaging in West Palm Beach.

Mr. Wolfe attended Palm Beach Day School, is a graduate of The University of Florida and received his Master's Degree in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University. He created and is employed by The Appraisal Authority in North Palm Beach.

The wedding will take place on August 24th in Palm Beach, Florida.

Krippendorf-Keene

Jean L. Krippendorf of Salem, Va., and Mr. and Mrs. Carl F. Krippendorf of Roanoke, announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Kim to James Gregory Keene. Greg is the son of Christine K. Keene, Cedar Bluff, Va. and Mr. and Mrs. James A. Keene, Salem, Va. Mary Kim is the granddaughter of Frances B. Lucas, Rocky Mt., Va. and the late Andrew D. Lucas; also Elvira S. Krippendorf, Roanoke, Va. and the late Noah F. Krippendorf. Greg is the grandson of Leck and Evelyn Sparks of Tazewell, Va. and the late Charles T. Kilgore; also Lola Keene of Richlands, Va. and the late Albert Keene.

Mary Kim is a graduate of Andrew Lewis High School and attended Virginia Western Community College. Greg is a graduate of Richlands High School and Virginia Tech. Both are employed by the U.S. Postal Service Remote Encoding Center, Salem, Va.

An August wedding is planned.

Harris-Carswell

Dr. and Mrs. Charles C. Harris of Roanoke, Va. announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Catherine, to Warren Carswell, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Carswell of Dublin, Ga.

Miss Harris is a graduate of Virginia Tech and Erskine Theological Seminary. She is continuing her studies at Erskine Theological Seminary. Rev, Carswell is a graduate of Georgia College and Erskine Theological Seminary. He is currently serving two United Methodist Churches in Donalsonville, Ga.

A November, 1996, wedding is planned in Due West, S.C.

Conner-Cummings

Mr. Andrew R. Conner and Mrs. Claudine W. Jenkins, both of Roanoke, announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Wendy L. Conner, to Dr. Scott W. Cummings, son of Mrs. Anne Cummings-Corrigan of Indianapolis, Indiana, and the late Mr. William H. Cummings. An October wedding is planned.

Miss Conner was graduated from Roanoke College and Radford University School of Nursing. She is associated with Carilion Health System. Dr. Cummings was graduated from Butler University, University of Texas - Health Science Center of Dallas and University of Texas - Health Science Center of San Antonio. He is presently associated with Carilion Health System.
