Brian Broughman, an 11-year-old student at Colonial Elementary School in Blue Ridge, was one of three Roanoke Valley boys who placed at the Southeast Regional Kids and Cadet wrestling championships in Newman, Ga.
Broughman, competing in the novice division, was first in the 60-pound weight class in Greco-Roman wrestling and third in freestyle wrestling.
Bradley Argabright, also wrestling in the novice division for 11- and 12-year-olds, was second in Greco-Roman and fifth in freestyle in the 80-pound division. Argabright attends Herman Horn Elementary in Vinton.
Blake Frost, a student at James Madison Junior High School in Roanoke, was second in Greco-Roman and sixth in freestyle in the schoolboy division (13- and 14-year-olds) in the 85-pound weight class.
