A Cloverdale man reported to Roanoke police that he was attacked Tuesday morning while at a stop sign in Southeast Roanoke.
Arthur Wilbur King, 27, said he was approached by three men around 10:20 a.m. at 24th Street and Yellow Mountain Road. One of them allegedly reached inside King's car and slashed him with an unknown object, cutting his forehead in several places, said Lt. W.J. Beason.
King said he stepped out of his vehicle and tried to fight the men.
He was knocked to the ground, and an envelope containing cash was taken from the car before the attackers ran away, Beason said.
King drove himself to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment, but was not admitted.
