"The Baby Dance," now alternating with "Doctors and Diseases" in repertory at Barter Stage II through Aug. 31, tackles one of today's most sensitive issues on giving up a child for adoption.
The poor young couple plans to give up their fifth child for adoption by a wealthy California couple, played by T. Cat Ford and Anderson Matthews. Nicholas Piper and Jennifer Rau play the surrogate parents, with Dennis Creaghan playing an attorney who arranges adoptions. All have performed in previous Barter plays.
Jane Anderson's play deals with a serious subject but with strong and sometimes comic characters. Reservations and information are available by calling (800) 368-3240.
