A suspended Prince William County high school teacher and coach who got into trouble for allowing the varsity baseball team to use a racist symbol known as ``The Well'' has been assigned to another school.
Matt Ondrof, given a one-year suspension in October after the school board's first-ever public personnel hearing, will begin teaching English at Stonewall Jackson High School this fall.
Ondrof applied for the position as a transfer applicant about a month ago, said Stonewall Principal Steve Constantino.
Ondrof came under fire after reports that his state-champion Brenstville District High School team drew the symbol, a version of which also is used by the Ku Klux Klan, in the dirt for good luck before games.
The symbol supposedly represents the view a black man sees after being thrown down a well.
The Rev. Frederick Ray, president of the local chapter of the NAACP, said he was indifferent about Ondrof's new position.
